World and Regions

LumenTale: Memories of Trey takes place in Talea, a land inspired by Italy. Talea is split into two halves, the region of Logos and the region of Mythos, and was once unified under a single empire. This page gives an overview of the world and its parts.
Talea
Talea is the setting for the whole adventure, an enchanting world filled with Animon and the people who study and battle them. Its history as a unified empire still shapes the present, where an order known as the Lumen serves as its protectors. See the dedicated Story and Setting page for the wider lore.
The Two Regions
Region | Orientation | Notes |
|---|---|---|
North | Technology-focused, with more high-tech cities and a snow biome. Home to the entertainment-focused city of Voltar. | |
South | Tradition-focused, with more forest and swamp areas. Home to the port city of Costa Linda. |
The split is more than flavor: each region leans toward different Animon types. The North favors Electric, Ice, and Data Animon, while the South favors Geo, Grass, and Virus Animon. After the Out of Ideas quest you choose which region to take on first; it does not lock you out of the other, but the world map stays fogged on the route you did not pick until you progress further. See Should You Go North or South?.
Cities and Locations
Across the regions you will visit a range of places, including:

Camp Dena | North | An early-area Lumen Camp in Area 1, where two Lumen must be found and defeated before the camp leader appears. |

Exploring the World
You travel Talea on foot, with a day and night cycle that changes which Animon appear and shifting weather that can affect battles. See Exploration for how to search effectively and Monster Collecting for catching the creatures you find.
Fast Travel
You can fast travel to Lumen Clubs in cities, marked with a diamond icon on the world map and a blue marker once located. Fast travel unlocks after you visit your first city and its Lumen Club, and from then on you can warp to any Lumen Club you have already visited. Places without those markers, such as Iris Hamlet and Points of Interest, cannot be fast-traveled to. Later in the story you also gain a Holoboard (hoverboard) that speeds up overland movement and reaches areas like water-crossing routes.
A Divided Land
Talea was once unified under a single empire, but a war of succession split it in two. Logos lies to the north and Mythos to the south, and the rivalry between them shapes much of the world Trey explores. Supporting the Lumen across both regions is AARI, an organization founded and led by Blanco that helps maintain the infrastructure the order relies on, including Lumen Clubs that serve as rest stations.
