Crimson Cavern Puzzle Solution

Overview

The Crimson Cavern in Costa Linda holds a torch puzzle that, once solved, opens a path to a hidden room. You reach the cavern by first lighting all ten town torches; see Costa Linda Torch Locations for that step. Inside, a circle of torches must be extinguished in a specific pattern using your Holoken. Below is both the direct solution and the in-game hint if you would rather work it out yourself.

Puzzle Solution

The goal is to put out exactly two specific torches from the center of the torch circle.

1. Stand in the middle of the torch circle.

2. Aim for the orange flame directly to the east.

3. Aim for the blue flame to the left of the southern (southmost) torch.

4. Shoot only these two torches with your Holoken. Other torches may get put out if your aim is off, so aim precisely so that only these two are extinguished.

Once the correct torches are out, a path opens that leads to a room containing the fountain furniture item and a roaming Encantyss.

Reward Room

The opened path leads to a room where Encantyss can be found alongside the fountain furniture item. Encantyss always spawns here, so if you are looking for its lost version, save and reload in this spot until a lost Encantyss appears.

How to Solve It Yourself (Telescope Hint)

On the west side of Costa Linda, there are three telescopes you can interact with. The left telescope, instead of showing scenery, displays a hint for this puzzle. Using the directions shown through the telescope as a reference, you can work out which torches need to be put out.
