Meow and Economy

Replaced detailed Purr Coins section with brief summary and wikilink to dedicated Meow Coins and Store article, removing content overlap
inZOI uses a dual currency system. Meow (also called Mew) is the everyday currency earned from jobs, selling items, and other in-game activities. Purr Coins (also called Meow Coins) are a premium currency earned through gameplay milestones. The two currencies exist in parallel and cannot be exchanged for each other.
Meow is used for everything in daily life: buying furniture, purchasing clothing, paying Utility Bills, buying food and groceries through the Pocket Market on the smartphone, purchasing cars, and repaying loans. It functions exactly like money in the real world.

Careers - The main income source. Weekly pay ranges from 136 Meow at the lowest level (Rookie Idol) to 2,169 Meow at the highest (Westside Hustler Boss). See Jobs and Careers for all pay rates.
Selling paintings - Created through the Art skill. Higher skill levels produce more valuable work.
Selling bonsai - Crafted through the gardening skill. Sold via the Pocket Market.
Selling harvested crops - Each good-quality harvest from gardening earns 500 Meow.
Selling digital creations - Made with the Programming skill. Sold through the computer.
Selling items - Physical items from the Zoi's inventory can be sold through the Pocket Market.
Busking - Street performance using instruments or comedy from the Performance skill.
Lottery - 5 Meow per ticket with a chance at larger payouts.
Welfare - Automatic 2,000 Meow payment when household funds drop below 1,000 Meow.
Money cheat - Grants 100,000 Meow per use through Psycat's Guide.
Purr Coins (also called Meow Coins) are a secondary premium currency earned through completing Urges and Ambitions. They are spent at the Meow Store on special donut items that provide temporary buffs and effects. See the dedicated Meow Coins and Store article for the full donut catalog, earning strategies, and spending tips.
Two banks operate in inZOI. Narae Bank is in Dowon, and Southwest Bank is in Bliss Bay. Both offer savings accounts and loans.
The first tier of savings requires a minimum deposit of 250 Meow and has a 3-day maturity period. After three in-game days, the deposit matures with interest. Withdrawing before maturity forfeits the interest. Additional account tiers with higher minimums and longer maturity periods may be available at higher banking levels.

Banks offer loans ranging from 300 to 15,000 Meow. Bank interest rates are approximately 1%, making them far cheaper than loan shark alternatives. Loan repayments are deducted automatically. Bank loans are the recommended way to finance property purchases and large expenses. See Lots and Housing for how property loans work.
For Zois who need cash faster or cannot qualify for bank loans, loan sharks offer an alternative. The smartphone's Loan app connects to loan shark services.
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Two loan amounts available | 2,500 Meow or 5,000 Meow |
Interest rate | 5% (five times the bank rate) |
If the Zoi fails to repay on time, debt collectors arrive at the home and seize items from the household to cover the outstanding balance | -- |
Loan sharks are a last resort. The high interest rate and item seizure penalty make bank loans the better option whenever possible.
Lottery tickets cost 5 Meow each and are sold at lottery stands found in public areas throughout both cities. The lottery is a low-cost gamble with potential for large returns.

Two factors increase the odds of winning. A Zoi with good karma has a higher chance of winning. Additionally, a Zoi who currently has the "Four-leaf Clover" thought bubble active gets a luck boost. Neither of these guarantees a win, but both improve the probability compared to a neutral state.
inZOI has an automatic welfare safety net. When a household's total funds drop below 1,000 Meow, the game automatically deposits 2,000 Meow into the household account. This prevents families from becoming completely destitute and ensures they can always afford basic needs like food.
The welfare payment triggers automatically. There is no application process, no waiting period, and no limit on how many times it can activate. As long as funds are below the threshold, the payment appears.
Bills arrive every Friday and must be paid within a 2-day deadline. Three types of bills exist:
Electricity - Based on electrical appliance usage in the home.
Water - Based on water usage (showers, sinks, pools, gardening).
Property tax - Based on the value of the lot and furnishings.
Failing to pay bills within the deadline results in penalties. Managing utility costs is an ongoing part of household budgeting. Players can reduce bills by using fewer appliances and keeping properties modest.
The highest-paying positions in inZOI, ranked by total weekly earnings:
Westside Hustler Boss (Bliss Bay) - 2,169 Meow/week, 3 days/week
Dowon Solutions Boss (Dowon) - 2,168 Meow/week, 3 days/week
Lawyer Partner (both cities) - 2,040 Meow/week, 3 days/week, 9 AM-3 PM
DG Esports Legendary / Nautilus All-Star - 1,998 Meow/week, 3 days/week
Distinguished Professor (both cities) - 1,920 Meow/week, 3 days/week
Director / Portfolio Manager - 1,881 Meow/week, 3 days/week
When measured by hourly rate, the Lawyer Partner position is the most efficient earner at roughly 340 Meow per hour due to its short 9 AM to 3 PM schedule. The criminal Boss positions earn the most in absolute terms per shift but carry karma penalties.
Major expenses in inZOI include housing (buying or renting lots), cars, furniture for home decoration, clothing from shops, weekly bills, groceries and ingredients from the Pocket Market, and loan repayments. Smaller expenses include lottery tickets, restaurant dining, and shopping for various goods.
