Overview
The Ring of the Earth is a unique one-handed weapon in Crimson Desert. It boasts an Attack Power of 18 and a Critical Rate of Lv.1, giving it one of the highest raw damage values among one-handed weapons in the early to mid game. The weapon is found at Reedfield Graves in the Hernand Highlands, resting on an open grave near a large tree.
Ring of the Earth is known for its distinctive and fluid combat animations. Its moveset feels responsive and visually satisfying, making it a favorite among players who value both performance and style. While it lacks the attack speed bonuses that weapons like the Hollow Visage offer, its high base attack and critical hit potential make it a powerful option for players who prefer landing fewer but harder-hitting strikes.

With 18 Attack Power at Refinement Lv.3, Ring of the Earth sits above most one-handed weapons in raw damage. The Critical Rate Lv.1 adds a consistent chance to deal bonus damage on each hit. However, both Attack Speed and Movement Speed remain at Lv.0, meaning the weapon relies on the player's own timing and positioning rather than built-in speed bonuses.
How to Obtain
Ring of the Earth is found at Reedfield Graves, a burial area in the Hernand Highlands south of Hernand Castle. Follow these steps to reach it:
From Hernand, head directly south over the Hernand Highlands. Continue past the highland terrain until you reach a reed field area with scattered graves near a large, prominent tree.
Look for a cluster of graves in the Reedfield Graves area. This is the same location where you first encounter the Reed Devil during the Nonhuman quest in Chapter 3.
Find the open grave to the right of the house in this area. The Ring of the Earth is sitting on the grave, ready to be picked up.
Interact with the grave to collect the weapon. No combat encounter or puzzle is required.
Unlike many unique weapons that require defeating a boss or solving a puzzle, Ring of the Earth is a straightforward pickup. The only challenge is knowing where to look. If you have already visited this location during the Chapter 3 Nonhuman quest, you can fast travel back to the nearest waypoint and walk to the graves.
Abyss Gear Slots
Ring of the Earth has three Abyss Gear slots. Unlike the Hollow Visage, this weapon does not come with Abyss Gear pre-installed. All three slots are empty when you pick it up, giving you full control over how you customize the weapon.
Recommended Abyss Gear loadouts for Ring of the Earth:
Critical build: Slot Insight cores to stack Critical Rate on top of the existing Lv.1 bonus. Pair with a Critical Damage core for maximum burst.
Speed build: Slot Gale cores to compensate for the Lv.0 Attack Speed. This brings the weapon closer to the feel of faster katanas while keeping the high base ATK.
Balanced build: Use one Insight, one Gale, and one Destruction core for a well-rounded improvement across all offensive stats.
Refinement
Ring of the Earth starts at Refinement Lv.3, meaning three levels of upgrades are already applied. It can be refined further at any blacksmith up to the maximum of Lv.10. Each additional refinement level increases Attack Power and may unlock secondary bonuses.
Because the weapon already has strong base ATK, each refinement level adds meaningful damage. At higher refinement tiers, Ring of the Earth can compete with some two-handed weapons in raw output while retaining the mobility and shield compatibility of a one-handed weapon.
Combat Tips
Ring of the Earth's animations are notably smooth and visually distinct compared to standard one-handed weapons. Take some time in a safe area to learn the full combo string and get comfortable with the timing before using it in serious fights.
The high ATK of 18 means each individual hit deals strong damage. This makes the weapon effective against enemies with tight counter windows where you can only land one or two hits before needing to dodge.
Since Attack Speed is Lv.0, consider slotting Gale Abyss Gear cores to speed up your swings. Even one Gale core makes a noticeable difference in combo fluidity.
The Critical Rate Lv.1 pairs well with critical-focused armor sets and accessories. If you build around critical hits, Ring of the Earth becomes a consistent source of burst damage.
As a one-handed weapon, Ring of the Earth allows you to equip a shield. This makes it a strong defensive option for boss fights where blocking is essential.
The weapon's high raw damage makes it a solid choice for players who do not want to rely on attack speed bonuses. If you prefer a deliberate, hard-hitting playstyle over rapid combos, Ring of the Earth rewards that approach.
Comparison with Similar Weapons
Weapon | Type | ATK | Speed | Crit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ring of the Earth | One-Handed | 18 | Lv.0 | Lv.1 | Highest ATK among unique one-handed; empty Abyss slots |
One-Handed | 17 | Lv.2 | Lv.1 | Pre-loaded Abyss Gear; fastest one-handed | |
Two-Handed | 19 | Lv.0 | Lv.1 | Higher ATK; no shield; two-handed |
Ring of the Earth offers the highest Attack Power among unique one-handed weapons. While the Hollow Visage beats it on attack speed and comes with pre-loaded Abyss Gear, Ring of the Earth gives you a higher damage ceiling and empty slots to customize freely. The Hwando surpasses both in raw ATK at 19, but it occupies both hands and prevents shield use. Choose Ring of the Earth if you want maximum one-handed damage with the flexibility to build your own Abyss Gear loadout.
