Antumbra's Spear
Antumbra's Spear is a Sanctum boss encountered in the Sanctum of Revelation during the Witches Faction Quest in Crimson Desert. Located northeast of the Serpent Marsh in Demeniss, this Antumbra variant wields a spear and fights with repetitive but dangerous attack patterns that can be countered with Force Palm stuns.
Overview
Antumbra's Spear is one of several Antumbra boss variants encountered when cleansing Sanctums for the witches in Crimson Desert. This spear-wielding boss guards the Sanctum of Revelation, located northeast of the Serpent Marsh in the Demeniss region. The fight is part of the Witches Faction Quest given by the witch Elowen, who tasks players with purifying corrupted Sanctums across the continent.
Compared to the more complex Antumbra's Sword encounter, Antumbra's Spear has relatively repetitive attack patterns. The boss can be stunned for several seconds using Force Palm, which creates reliable damage windows throughout the fight. Players who have already cleared other Sanctums should find this encounter manageable with proper preparation.

How to Reach the Boss
The Sanctum of Revelation is located on a patch of land surrounded by water, just northeast of the Serpent Marsh in Demeniss. To access Sanctums, you must first meet the witch Elowen and accept her quest to purify the Sanctums. Sanctums can only be purified by Witches from the Witches Faction, making this quest progression essential. Upon entering the Sanctum, head up through the building while defeating enemies, and you will eventually encounter Antumbra's Spear.
Attack Patterns
Antumbra's Spear has repetitive attack patterns, making the encounter relatively predictable once you learn the boss's tells. The spear-based attacks have moderate range and can be interrupted with well-timed stuns.
Attack | Description | How to Counter |
|---|---|---|
Spear Thrust Combo | Antumbra's Spear performs a series of forward thrusts with the spear, covering moderate range. The combo consists of two to three sequential thrusts. | Dodge sideways to avoid the linear thrusts. After the final thrust, there is a recovery window for counterattacks. |
Sweeping Strike | A wide horizontal sweep with the spear that covers the area directly in front of the boss. Hits in a broad arc. | Dodge backward or roll behind the boss. The sweep has a fixed arc and will not track your position mid-animation. |
Ground Slam | The boss raises the spear overhead and drives it into the ground, creating a localized impact zone. This is the most damaging single attack in the encounter. | Roll away when you see the overhead wind-up. Use Force Palm to interrupt this attack before it connects. |
Strategy
Force Palm Stun Loop
The primary strategy against Antumbra's Spear is using Force Palm to repeatedly stun the boss. When Force Palm connects, Antumbra's Spear is stunned for several seconds, creating a reliable window for offensive pressure and damage dealing. Follow each stun with a three-hit combo, then prepare to dodge and set up your next Force Palm. This loop is the most consistent and safe approach to the fight.
Managing Additional Enemies
The Sanctum of Revelation is not a one-on-one fight. Antumbra cultists and warpriests occupy the area alongside the boss. Use area-of-effect attacks to thin out the smaller enemies while focusing your single-target damage on the boss. Clearing the additional enemies helps reduce the green liberation bar that must reach zero to liberate the Sanctum.
Liberation Mechanic
After defeating Antumbra's Spear and killing the majority of remaining enemies, the green liberation bar will be emptied. This liberates the Sanctum of Revelation. Once liberated, search for the Fusion Reactor Cores and add them to the generator to activate it and fully cleanse the area.
Tips
Force Palm is your best tool in this fight. Keep it available and use it whenever the boss begins a major attack.
Do not ignore the smaller enemies. They contribute to the liberation bar and can deal chip damage that adds up over time.
After defeating the boss, remember to complete the Fusion Reactor Core puzzle to fully cleanse the Sanctum.
This boss has repetitive patterns. Once you learn the tells for each attack, the fight becomes very predictable.
Bring healing food, but this fight is less consumable-intensive than other Antumbra encounters like Antumbra's Sword.
