Deep Impact is a talent in the Marksman branch of the Windrose Talent System. Flat damage increase on Pierce-subtype hits. Most firearms deal Pierce natively, as do Rapiers and some daggers.
Pierce Weapons This Talent Scales
Deep Impact only raises hits that register as the Pierce damage type. Most firearms deal Pierce natively, and so do Rapiers and some daggers. Slash and Crude weapons gain nothing from it.

Strong for every Marksman build. Slightly lower priority than Firearm Training because Firearm Training covers all ranged damage types and Deep Impact only applies to Pierce.

Talent or Item | Why It Stacks |
|---|---|
Firearm Training raises all ranged damage while Deep Impact raises Pierce specifically. On a firearm that already deals Pierce both bonuses apply to the same shot and stack additively. | |
The Marksman Set reinforces firearm damage and Precision scaling, so its bonuses compound with the Pierce uplift from Deep Impact on every gun shot. | |
Bull's Eye adds a headshot multiplier on top of the raised Pierce base, so the largest single hits in a Marksman rotation benefit most from stacking the two. |

Build Role
Deep Impact is Pierce damage scaling. Firearms and Rapiers are the primary beneficiaries. Deep Impact pairs naturally with Firearm Training because both stack additively on the same damage output.
Math Example
A Musket doing 580 Pierce per shot becomes 632 Pierce at rank 3 Deep Impact. Stacking Firearm Training rank 3 (+10%) on top brings the shot to 695 Pierce. Add Bull's Eye rank 3 (+20% on headshots) and a headshot deals 834 Pierce.
Notes
Does not apply to Slash (Saber, most Greatswords) or Crude (Club, some halberds). Check damage type before committing points.
Applies to melee Pierce weapons as well, so Rapier of a Thousand Cuts benefits even though it is a melee build.
