Outnumbered is a Tier 2 talent in the Toughguy branch of the Windrose Talent System. It grants bonus melee damage that triggers whenever at least two enemies are nearby. It is the functional inverse of Duelist, which instead rewards fighting a single target.

Outnumbered vs Duelist
These two talents cover opposite situations and a build usually commits to one. Duelist pays out when only one enemy is in range, which suits boss fights and single-target duels. Outnumbered pays out when two or more are in range, which suits camp clears and group pulls. Stacking both is inefficient because their conditions rarely overlap, so pick the one that matches the content you run most.
Talent | Triggers when | Best for |
|---|---|---|
2 or more enemies nearby | Group pulls, camp clears | |
Exactly one enemy nearby | Bosses, single-target fights |
Community Meta
Situational. Strong for co-op mob clears where pulls regularly hit three or more enemies, and a trap for solo boss play because a lone boss never satisfies the trigger. In an 8-player session the talent is almost always active during open-world fighting.
Pairs Well With
Momentum, sustained swinging through a group keeps both effects rolling.
Dominating Presence, another group-oriented Toughguy effect.
A heavy Halberd or Club build, since wide melee swings hit several of the nearby enemies that trigger the bonus.
Build Role
Outnumbered is the group-fight specialist. The two-enemy requirement means it shines in camp pulls where engagements regularly involve three to five enemies at once, and it is dead weight in a one-on-one boss duel. Pair it with a wide-arc Strength weapon to convert the bonus into cleared mobs quickly.
Math Example
A Halberd swing in a camp with 3 enemies nearby at rank 3 Outnumbered (+10%) gains +10% to that swing's damage. On a 400 base swing, that is 440, or +40 per swing across the camp clear. The bonus applies to every qualifying swing for as long as two or more enemies remain in range.
Notes
Mechanical inverse of Duelist. A boss-focused build picks Duelist; a group-focused build picks Outnumbered.
Counts only hostile mobs in range. Friendly NPCs and co-op crewmates within the radius do not count toward the two-enemy threshold.
Talent points can be moved at any time via a free respec, so a player can swap between Duelist and Outnumbered to match the next activity.
Patch History
Hotfix 0.10.0.4.268 on April 30, 2026 fixed an Outnumbered visual bug. The talent's activation indicator now displays correctly when 2 or more hostile enemies are within the trigger radius, so the player has a reliable on-screen confirmation that the rank-based bonus is currently applying.
Underlying damage numbers and the rank progression are unchanged. The fix is purely visual; pre-patch builds that relied on Outnumbered were already receiving the damage bonus, just without the corresponding HUD signal.
