Initial version
The June 2025 Update (version 0.2.0, build 20250612.4545.W) was inZOI's first major content update during its Early Access period. Released on June 12, 2025, the patch introduced the long-awaited ModKit, added over 200 new items across character creation and Build Mode, expanded family and relationship systems, and delivered a large number of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.
The update had originally been scheduled for late May but was delayed by roughly two weeks to allow for additional polish. KRAFTON described it as a significant step forward for the Early Access experience, adding both creative tools and deeper life simulation features.
The headline feature of v0.2.0 was the formal introduction of the ModKit, a development toolkit that lets players create and share custom content for inZOI. A new Mod Browser was added directly inside the game, allowing players to search for, install, manage, and delete mods without leaving the client.
Feature | Details |
|---|---|
Mod Browser | In-game interface for searching, installing, and managing mods. |
Wizard UI | Step-by-step creation flow that simplifies mod setup without requiring complex configuration. |
Custom Outfits | Creators can design standalone outfit items for use in Create a Zoi. |
Custom Furniture | Placeable furniture and decorative objects can be built and shared. |
Data Editing | Mod authors can edit game data to create custom rules, pricing, placement rules, and interactions. |
Distribution | Mods can be shared via CurseForge or extracted manually for direct distribution. |
DCC Plugins | Maya and Blender plugins provided, along with FBX export support for third-party editing. |
Starter Resources | Basic Unreal Engine assets based on actual in-game models included, plus sample mods covering CAZ, building, and data editing. |
A comprehensive ModKit guide was packaged with the tools, and KRAFTON indicated that modding capabilities would expand in future updates.

The v0.2.0 update introduced several new ways to build and manage family structures and relationships. These features broadened the range of life paths available to players.
Feature | Description |
|---|---|
Zois meeting age and property requirements can adopt children through a computer or laptop interface. | |
Create a Child with Medical Help | Available via computer or laptop. Costs 1,000 Mew. The child inherits the player Zoi's genetic traits, with an option to partner with another Zoi for combined genetics. |
Non-Marital Childbirth | Zois can now give birth without being married. |
Teen Romance | Teenager Zois can enter romantic relationships with shy conversations, first dates, and random choice card events including anonymous love confessions. |
Gift Exchanging | Zois can exchange items. Recipients react differently based on personality and preferences. New giftable items added to the Pocket Market. |
Visits from Other Zois | NPCs can initiate meetups via text or show up unannounced. Outcomes depend on the player's response. |
First Text | The Contacts app (P key) allows Zois to send the first text message. Response tone varies by relationship level and the recipient's emotional state. |
Gender identity and romantic attraction settings are now more flexible and can be adjusted at any time.
NPCs who align with the player's configured identity and attraction preferences now appear in the overworld.
Conversations change at relationship milestones (for example, from Mutual Crush to Sweetheart), with dialogue tone reflecting the progression.
The "You're getting to know each other as romantic interests" message was removed in response to player feedback.
The romantic relationship gauge now only displays after the first romantic conversation.
The update introduced visible body changes tied to lifestyle. Working out causes Zois to build muscle, while overeating leads to weight gain. Higher Fitness skill levels increase resistance to aches and fatigue. New Swing and Hula Hoop interactions were added for children and older Zois, both of which improve the Fitness skill.
Rapid emotional changes were toned down. The primary emotion now only changes when the emotional score reaches 2 points or higher, keeping the base emotion stable otherwise. This prevents Zois from flickering between moods every few seconds.
The Young Adult stage was significantly extended, while time spent as a Middle-Aged Zoi was reduced. Infant, Teen, and in-between age groups were also lengthened, giving players more time during childhood and adolescence. Hovering the cursor over a Zoi now shows their age group, marital status, and days until the next life stage.
Prison conditions became stricter in new save files. Vending machines were removed, meals are only available during set times, lifers now appear in prison, casual conversations are prohibited, beds are less comfortable, and needs are generally harder to fulfill.
Starting and move-in funds were adjusted to help players begin more easily while keeping a sense of progression. Initial furniture was rebalanced for a humble start with room to grow. Welfare support can only be claimed once, and families are expected to find jobs to support themselves. These changes apply only to new save files.
Eight new items were added to the Pocket Market, organized into four new categories: Luxury, Practical, Charming, and Silly. Items can be exchanged with other Zois as gifts.
Five new donut varieties were introduced: Poison, Charming, Flirty, Diet, and High-Calorie. Each type applies a different effect when consumed.
Auto-generated schedules are now disabled for player-controlled Zois.
New severe weather advisories for heat waves and extreme cold appear as text notifications.
Newborn interactions expanded: Laugh, Cry, and Change Diaper added. Emotion buffs may trigger or nearby Zois may wake based on needs.
Idle family aging is disabled by default (can be toggled on). Idle family narratives improved and maximum capacity updated.
NPC pregnancy now has age restrictions to prevent unintended pregnancies.
New object interactions: Write Entry in Plant Observation Journal, Shower While Humming. Yoga mat and pot features improved.
Street encounters expanded with new look-at, greet, and reaction interactions. Pedestrian and traffic avoidance systems improved.
An official cheats system was added, accessible through the Psycat Guide. Players can control Zoi emotions, relationships, currency, movement, and environmental conditions. This marked the first time inZOI provided built-in cheat functionality.
Canvas, inZOI's community sharing platform, received several improvements in v0.2.0.

The v0.2.0 update was generally seen as a step in the right direction for inZOI's Early Access. Players welcomed the ModKit, the expanded relationship options, and the large batch of new Build Mode items. The body simulation changes and emotion system tweaks also received positive attention, with many noting that Zois felt more natural after the patch.
Reception was not entirely smooth. The ModKit's reliance on CurseForge for distribution drew criticism from some players who preferred alternative mod hosting platforms. The broader community discussion around KRAFTON's use of generative AI in development, which surfaced around the same time, led to a period of increased negative Steam reviews. These concerns were separate from the patch content itself but colored the overall sentiment during the update window.
KRAFTON responded to feedback with two hotfixes within four days of launch and continued to communicate through the official forums. The update set the stage for v0.3.0 in August 2025, which added swimming, fishing, and farming. A full timeline of releases is available on the Update History page.
