Gothic 1 Remake ships on PC (Windows), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Console specifications are fixed per platform, so the published requirements only describe the PC build. The numbers below come from the official PC store listing for the full game; the Nyras Prologue Demo uses the same engine and lists comparable specs.
Minimum Requirements
The minimum tier targets 1080p at 30 frames per second with the lowest preset, on a 64-bit installation of Windows 10 or Windows 11.
Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
Processor | Intel Core i7-7700K, or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X |
Memory | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics card | Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070, or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT |
Dedicated VRAM | 8 GB |
DirectX | Version 12 |
Storage | 60 GB available space |
Sound | DirectX-compatible sound card |
Recommended Requirements
The recommended tier targets 1440p at 60 frames per second on a higher preset. The published spec sheet lists the same Intel CPU at both tiers; the AMD CPU steps up.
Component | Recommended |
|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
Processor | Intel Core i7-7700K, or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X |
Memory | 32 GB RAM |
Graphics card | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT |
Dedicated VRAM | 12 GB |
DirectX | Version 12 |
Storage | 60 GB available space |
Sound | DirectX-compatible sound card |
Notes On The Numbers
A few things are worth flagging before you compare your rig to the table.
- Same Intel CPU on both tiers. The published spec sheet lists the Intel Core i7-7700K under both minimum and recommended. The AMD CPU steps up from a Ryzen 5 1600X (minimum) to a Ryzen 5 3600X (recommended). This is the spec sheet as printed; treat the Intel duplication as accurate unless an updated sheet says otherwise.
- VRAM matters. The minimum target lists 8 GB of dedicated VRAM and the recommended target lists 12 GB. The graphics-card pairings (RTX 2070 / RX 6700 XT minimum, RTX 3070 Ti / RX 6800 XT recommended) are picked to hit those VRAM totals.
- DirectX 12 only. The renderer ships against DirectX 12. There is no DirectX 11 fallback published with the launch build.
- Storage. The 60 GB install size is identical at both tiers. Plan around 60 GB of free disk space plus headroom for patches and a save file.
- Engine. The PC build runs on Unreal Engine 5.x and uses a PSO precaching pass at first launch to cut shader-compilation stutter. See Engine and Modding for the engine breakdown.
Console Platforms
Console specifications are not published as a separate table. The game is confirmed on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The studio has not announced PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions, so treat those last-generation platforms as unsupported for the remake. Both supported consoles run from internal SSD storage, which matches the PC recommendation to install on solid-state storage where possible.
Handheld PCs
The studio has not posted a compatibility rating for handheld Windows or Linux-based portable PCs at the time of writing. The minimum-tier spec lists an RTX 2070 / RX 6700 XT class GPU with 8 GB of VRAM, which sits above what current handheld PC SoCs deliver at native resolution. Expect aggressive resolution scaling and lowered presets on those devices. Treat handheld support as unconfirmed until a launch-day patch note or compatibility rating is posted.
Steam Platform Features
The PC release on the Valve storefront lists the following platform-level features.
Feature | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Single-player | Supported | There is no online multiplayer component. The game is built as a single-player role-playing experience. |
Steam Achievements | Supported | Achievements unlock through the storefront's standard tracking. |
Steam Trading Cards | Supported | Trading cards drop during play on Steam. |
Steam Cloud | Supported | Save files sync through the storefront's cloud-save service. |
Family Sharing | Supported | The library entry can be shared with authorised family-member accounts. |
Console-platform equivalents (trophies on PlayStation 5, achievements on Xbox Series X|S, cloud-save services on each console family) ship through each platform's standard account system. Cross-save between PC and console has not been announced.
