Taming the White-Winged Redstart
The White-Winged Redstart was added to the tameable pet roster in Patch 1.04.00. Capturing one uses the Sotdae of Bond, the bird-feeder item awarded by the Pororin faction quest line. Once tamed, the Redstart joins the small-bird roster and perches on the player's shoulder during exploration alongside the other tame companions.
Where to Place the Feeder
Redstarts cycle through the same cliff-edge flight paths used by jays, pigeons, and crows. Any high-ground placement along an open ridge in Pywel pulls them eventually, but elevated cliff areas in the Pailune mountains are the most consistent because the species shares spawns with the larger predator flock that patrols those ridges. Place the Sotdae of Bond at the highest point along the ridge and stand back so the flock is not scared off the bait.
Food and Trust
As a small bird, the White-Winged Redstart accepts grains, fruits, and insects. Barley is the most efficient grain bait for small birds (about 25 trust per accepted feed) and is widely available at grocer vendors. Bugs caught with the Kuku Insect Gatherer's Pack or picked up by hand also work. Refill the feeder, wait the usual two to six minutes per landing, and repeat until trust hits the cap; the daily feeding cap and broader bird-taming workflow are covered on the Pet Taming Guide.
