The Visione is a unique headgear item in Crimson Desert described as "a mysterious device gaining widespread popularity in Delesya." This helm can read Memory Fragmentsallowing its wearer to see glimpses of the past. Unlike conventional armorthe Visione serves a narrative and exploration function rather than providing combat protection.
The Visione is obtained during Chapter 2 as part of the main quest "Memory Fragment." The quest becomes available after completing the Unexpected Gift sub-chapter, which involves Rulupee's lost pendant beginning to shine after Kliff returns from the mysterious world of the Abyss. Upon donning the strange helmet for the first time, a man materializes and refers to the device as a "visione."
The Visione cannot be purchased from merchants, sold, or crafted at a Blacksmith. It is a unique story item that remains in your equipment permanently once obtained.
The Visione is used to view Memory Fragments discovered throughout the world. There are three ways to access it:
When a viewable memory is nearby, the icon on the right side of the screen changes to a mirror. Hold the Options button (or the equivalent key on PC), then select the bottom icon labeled "View Fragment" to immediately watch the memory.
Press D-pad left (or the corresponding PC key), then press R1 to access the armor tab. Highlight the Visione helm and press the confirm button. Select "Play" at the top of the screen to bring up a list of all collected memories, then choose the one you want to view.
The first time you use the Visione from the inventory, you must hold the Use button (Space on PC, X on PlayStation, A on Xbox) to open a secondary menu and select Use. After this initial interaction, Use becomes the default option and a single press opens the Memory Fragment UI directly.
Open your inventory and use the Visione directly with the confirm button. This brings up a list of all viewable memories. Newly collected memories are marked for easy identification.

The Visione is essential for interacting with Memory Fragments found across Pywel. When Kliff approaches a memory location while holding a Lanternthe lantern starts glowing blue and emitting a pulse. After holding the lantern in place until a "Learning in Progress" bar fillsKliff can then equip the Visione to watch the memory, which manifests as blue ghosts re-enacting events from the past.
Some memories reveal story lore and historical events, while others provide practical gameplay information like crafting recipes or hidden locations.
An alternative detection method is Blinding Flasha concentrated beam activated by pressing and holding Ctrl + Left Mouse Button on PC, or LB + RB simultaneously on controller. Unlike the standard lantern glow that only works at close range, Blinding Flash can reveal fragment locations from a greater distance and works while mounted on horseback. When a fragment is within range, the beam highlights its position with a distinct blue light. This makes Blinding Flash especially useful for sweeping through open fields and large areas without dismounting.
To focus the beam at a specific point, release the secondary button (Left Mouse Button on PC, or RB on controller) after the initial activation, then press and hold it again. Aim at the suspected fragment location and hold for a few seconds until the blue marker appears. Blinding Flash also serves as a combat stun, a tool for lighting torches and burning obstacles, and a scanner for other points of interest like Abyss Nexus fast travel locations.
The fastest way to view a newly discovered Memory Fragment is through the contextual quick-menu. After learning a new fragment with the Lanternthe standard menu button (Escape on PC, Options on PlayStation, Menu on Xbox) is temporarily replaced with a prompt to view the most recently discovered memory. Pressing this button auto-equips the Visione, plays the memory instantly, and auto-unequips the helmet afterward. This eliminates the need to navigate any radial menu or inventory screen.
If you are standing near a previously discovered fragment's location, the Visione UI also displays a "Nearby Memory Fragment" option, letting you quickly replay that specific memory without scrolling through the full list.
The Visione will be used frequently throughout the entire game, not just in Chapter 2.
The controls for accessing the Visione can feel unintuitive at first, but the quick-access method (holding Options when the mirror icon appears) becomes the fastest approach with practice.
The Visione appears to be connected to the Abyssgiven that it is obtained shortly after Kliff's first encounter with that realm.
As of Patch 1.00.03the Visione is automatically equipped and played after learning a new Memory Fragment with the Lantern. Before this patch, players had to manually equip the helmet through the Gear Radial or inventory.
The Visione is required for several main quests and side quests throughout the game. It first appears in the quest Memory Fragment during Chapter 2and continues to be used in the following quests
