Overview
Unwelcomed Guests is the second quest in Chapter 5 of Crimson Desert. A panicked horse appears at the Hernand Castle gate, and its rider turns out to be Damiane. She reveals that her swordmaster has disappeared as part of a dark conspiracy, and that she herself has been framed and is now a fugitive.
Walkthrough
Head to Hernand
Fast travel back to Hernand town if you are not already there. The quest marker will guide you toward the castle.
Check the Commotion at the Castle Gate
Head to the field north of Hernand Castle. You will find soldiers trying to calm a horse near a carriage. A cutscene plays that explains the situation: the horse bolted from its rider, and the soldiers cannot get it under control.
Tame the Horse
A white horse is running in circles in the area. Approach it and press Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) to mount. Once you are on, the horse will try to throw you off. Pull the left stick in the opposite direction the horse is moving. If the horse lunges forward, pull the stick down. If it swerves left, push right. A yellow circle on screen shows your progress toward calming the animal.
There is a hidden timer running during this sequence. If you take too long, the horse will buck you off. You can retry as many times as needed with no penalty, so do not worry about failing on the first attempt.
Take the Horse to the Stable
Once the horse is tamed, ride it north to the stables. Damiane is waiting there. A cutscene plays where she explains what happened to her and her swordmaster. This completes the quest.
Tips
The horse taming mechanic works the same way as the regular horse taming system used elsewhere in the game. If you have tamed wild horses before, this will feel familiar.
Do not try to fight the horse's momentum. React to its direction changes rather than trying to predict them.
Failing the taming attempt has no consequences. The horse resets and you can try again immediately.
