Overview

The Solas Plate Armor is a Body Armor piece in Crimson Desert. It falls under the Plate armor category and is equipped on the upper torso of the player character. With a base Defense of 9, it offers solid defense for a plate armor piece. It pairs well with the Plate Armor of the Shadows. What sets the Solas Plate Armor apart is its unique combination of special effects: passive health regeneration and increased Pet Trust gain, making it the best general-purpose body armor for most builds.

Body armor provides the highest defense stat among the four Armor types (chest armor, Headgear, Gloves, and Footwear). The Solas Plate Armor is widely regarded as the endgame goal for chest armor due to its reliable defense combined with passive bonuses.

Main Quest Reward

The Solas Plate Armor can be obtained as a reward from the "Time to Face Justice" main quest in Chapter 7: Homecoming. Completing this quest awards the armor automatically, making it a guaranteed pickup for players progressing through the main storyline.

Purchase from Equipment Shops

The Solas Plate Armor can also be purchased from equipment shops across Pywel for 9.56 Silver Coins. Prices may vary depending on the player's standing with different factions. This provides an alternative acquisition path for players who want the armor before reaching Chapter 7.

At 9.56 Silver, the Solas Plate Armor is a mid-range purchase. For the level of defense and the special effects it provides, the price represents strong value.

Armor sets in Crimson Desert share a visual theme across equipment slots but do not currently provide set bonuses when multiple pieces are worn together. The primary benefit of wearing a matching set is cosmetic. Individual pieces within a set still need to be refined separately to improve their stats.

The Frostcursed Plate Armor at 14 DEF has the highest raw defense, but that armor specializes in Ice Resistance and lacks Abyss Core slots.

The Blackwing Leather Armor is a strong alternative at 12 DEF with Movement Speed and Lightning Resistance bonuses. Players who value mobility may prefer the Blackwing set for specific situations, but for raw protection and passive utility, the Solas Plate Armor is the better all-around choice.

Refinement

The Solas Plate Armor supports 10 refinement levels. Refinement is performed at a Blacksmith and increases the armor's Defense with each level. Because this armor is non-unique, it is refined using gathered materials or duplicate armor pieces. A fully refined Solas Plate Armor provides strong effective defense, though several other plate armors have higher base defense values.

With 3 Abyss Core slots, the Solas Plate Armor accepts Abyss Cores that can be socketed by visiting a Witch. The first available Witch is Elowen at the Witch's House in The Witchwoods. Recommended core setups for the Solas Plate Armor include:

• Pet companion build: Pair the innate Pet Trust Gain bonus with cores that further enhance pet-related stats. This setup is ideal for players who rely on their pet companions in combat and exploration.

• Balanced offense: Slot cores that add Attack Power or Critical Rate to complement the armor's defensive strengths, creating a well-rounded loadout.

The Solas Plate Armor is crafted from ores mined in Gorthak and forged at the Krall Foundry. The foundry uses premium iron and a seamless forging technique that processes large iron plates directly, resulting in armor with no seams or weak points. This construction method is specifically designed to withstand heavy impacts, making the armor popular among soldiers and mercenaries who operate in Pywel's most dangerous regions.

• The Solas Plate Armor is one of only a few chest pieces with innate special effects. The passive health regeneration is modest at +0.2 per second, but over a long fight or extended exploration session, the cumulative healing adds up significantly.

• If you reach Chapter 7 before buying the armor, you can save 9.56 Silver by waiting for the quest reward. However, if you want the armor sooner and have the Silver available, purchasing it from a shop provides an earlier power boost.

• The Pet Trust Gain +1 effect stacks with other pet trust sources, making this armor especially valuable for players who are actively working on building trust with a pet companion.

• At 9 DEF with 3 Abyss Core slots and two special effects, the Solas Plate Armor offers the best combination of stats and utility of any body armor piece. It is the recommended endgame chest piece for most builds.
