Mineral Vendors are specialized shop operators found at liberated outposts, estates, and workshops throughout Pywel. They sell raw ores, stone, and gemstone materials used in crafting and the refinement system. Purchasing from a Mineral Vendor is the fastest way to top up your ore stocks between gathering runs, and it is the only reliable source of rarer gems like Garnet and Azurite in the early and mid game.
In addition to the five dedicated Mineral Vendors, two Decorative Stone Merchants sell bismuth ornaments and a small selection of raw stone and ores as decorative or home furnishing items. Their inventories overlap partially with regular Mineral Vendors but are aimed at players who want decorative stones for housing rather than refinement.
All Mineral Vendor shops restock at in-game midnight (0:00). Each shop carries a limited quantity per restock cycle, so visiting multiple vendors and sleeping to advance the in-game clock is the most efficient way to accumulate bulk ore. For mining locations and gathering routes, see the Best Mining Locations article.
Most Mineral Vendors are locked behind location liberation. When an area is occupied by a hostile faction such as Bleed Bandits or the Faceless, the vendor at that location is unavailable. Defeating all enemies in the area and clearing the occupation returns the location to friendly control, which opens the shop.
Cairn House. Clear the Bleed Bandits occupying Cairn House north of Hernand. This is the first Mineral Vendor most players can access and requires no story progress beyond arriving in Hernand.
Fort Manub. The vendor here becomes available after liberating the fort from the Faceless faction as part of the Faceless faction quest chain.
Headstone Workshop. Unlock by clearing the hostile forces occupying the workshop area.
House Roberts's Mineral Vendor. Access is tied to reaching the House Roberts estate and making sufficient progress with their faction quests.
Tommaso. Located in the Tashkalp sub-region within the Crimson Desert area. Accessible once you reach the Tashkalp portion of the map through story progression.
Decorative Stone Merchants. The Stelecrest merchant and the House Felix Decorative Stone Merchant at Virel are unlocked by visiting their respective locations after clearing any occupation or fulfilling faction-related conditions.
The table below lists every confirmed Mineral Vendor by name, their settlement or location, and the region of Pywel they are found in. Each vendor is covered in more detail in the sections below.
Vendor Name | Location | Region | Unlock Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
Cairn House Mineral Vendor | Clear Bleed Bandits at Cairn House | ||
Fort Manub Mineral Vendor | Complete Faceless faction quest chain at Fort Manub | ||
Headstone Workshop Mineral Vendor | Clear occupation at Headstone Workshop | ||

The Cairn House Mineral Vendor is the earliest Mineral Vendor that most players will encounter. Cairn House sits north of Hernand near Three Saints Falls. When first visited, the location is occupied by Bleed Bandits who must be cleared before the shop opens. The Bleed Bandits here are manageable even with starting equipment, making Cairn House a practical target in the early hours of the game.
Once liberated, the Cairn House Mineral Vendor reliably stocks Stone, Iron Ore, and Copper Ore. Iron Ore and Copper Ore are both essential materials for refining weapons and armor through the smithy. Having a consistent vendor source means you can push refinement levels without needing to dedicate gathering runs exclusively to ore collection.
The vendor also carries rarer gems like Garnet and Azurite in smaller quantities (typically three to five per restock). These gems are used in jewelry refinement and are much harder to farm from ore nodes than basic metals. Cairn House is where most players will buy their first Garnet for early jewelry upgrades.
Item | Price | Stock per Restock | Primary Use |
|---|---|---|---|
10 Silver Coins | 6+ | Construction, basic crafting | |
18 Silver Coins | 6 | Weapon and armor refinement | |
45 Silver Coins | 6 | Weapon and armor refinement, jewelry | |
2.50 Silver Coins | 3 to 5 | Smithing and gear refinement | |
2.50 Silver Coins | 3 to 5 | Jewelry refinement |
The Fort Manub Mineral Vendor opens after Macduff drives out the Faceless faction from Fort Manub. The Faceless are a masked bandit faction whose campaign across the villages surrounding the fort is a key thread in the Hernand quest line. The fort's vendor remains unavailable until the Faceless faction quest chain is completed and the area is secured.
Fort Manub is a substantial military installation, and once liberated, its Mineral Vendor gives players a second reliable ore source in the Hernand region. Players who have completed the Faceless quest line and are pushing into mid-game refinement levels will find it worth restocking here in addition to Cairn House. The two shops together let you buy double the quantity of Iron Ore and Copper Ore per in-game day.
Like most Mineral Vendors in the Hernand region, Fort Manub's shop stocks Stone, Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and a small selection of rarer gems. Inventory counts and exact gem availability may vary depending on your story progress and regional liberation status.
The Headstone Workshop Mineral Vendor is based at the Headstone Workshop, a stonecutting and quarry operation in the Hernand region. The workshop's focus on stonework makes it a natural home for a mineral merchant, and the vendor here emphasizes stone-related materials alongside the standard ore selection found at other Mineral Vendors.
Access requires clearing any hostile occupation at the workshop. Once the area is liberated, the vendor opens and provides another mid-game source of refinement materials. Players gathering stone for construction or housing projects will find this location particularly convenient given the workshop setting and nearby stone deposits.
The Headstone Workshop Mineral Vendor carries the standard Mineral Vendor inventory of Stone, Iron Ore, and Copper Ore, and likely carries a selection of mid-tier gems consistent with the Hernand region's vendor pool.
The House Roberts's Mineral Vendor is part of the commercial holdings of House Roberts, one of the wealthiest noble families in Hernand. House Roberts built their influence through commerce over many generations, and their estate reflects that wealth. Access to their mineral vendor is tied to reaching the Roberts estate and making progress through their faction quest line.
Because House Roberts is a merchant house, this vendor may carry a broader or higher-tier selection than the outpost-based vendors at Cairn House or Fort Manub. Players who have established a relationship with House Roberts through their faction quests and trust system interactions will find this shop a reliable source for mid-to-late game refinement materials.
The House Roberts faction quest line involves dealing with disrupted trade routes, bandit threats to the Roberts commercial network, and the tensions between House Roberts and rival noble houses. Completing their quests and building trust with the family is the prerequisite for full access to this vendor.
The Tommaso Mineral Vendor is located in the town of Tommaso, the largest settlement in the Tashkalp sub-region of the Crimson Desert Region. Tashkalp is in the northeastern part of the map and becomes accessible through story progression as Macduff's journey moves into the desert territories.
Tommaso functions as the main hub for travelers crossing the Crimson Desert, providing a full complement of vendors including this Mineral Vendor. As a later-game location, the Tommaso vendor is likely to stock higher-tier materials consistent with the ore requirements for mid-to-late game refinement, including rarer gems that may not be available from the Hernand-area vendors earlier in the playthrough.
The town of Tommaso also has a bell tower for map reveal and a fast-travel teleporter for convenient access once you have the node registered. Stocking up at the Tommaso Mineral Vendor is practical when you are farming the Tashkalp and Crimson Desert areas and do not want to fast-travel back to Hernand for ore.
The Tommaso Mineral Vendor carries a region-appropriate selection of minerals and gems. Epidote, a high-tier refinement material needed in late-game upgrades, may be available from this vendor or from nearby regional mineral shops in Tashkalp once the area is sufficiently progressed.
Decorative Stone Merchants are a distinct subtype of mineral shop focused on ornamental stone products. Unlike standard Mineral Vendors who sell raw ores for refinement, Decorative Stone Merchants primarily carry finished bismuth ornaments and a small selection of basic stone and ore for housing or decorative use. There are two confirmed Decorative Stone Merchants in Crimson Desert.
The Decorative Stone Merchant at Stelecrest sells three bismuth ornament variants at different price points. Bismuth is associated with the Queen Bismuth Oreback Crab and the crystalline formations found in the desert regions of Pywel. The bismuth ornaments sold here are decorative items used in housing or camp decoration rather than crafting.
Item | Price (Silver Coins) | Type |
|---|---|---|
500 | Decoration | |
700 | Decoration | |
1,100 | Decoration |
The Broken Bismuth Ornament is the cheapest entry at 500 bronze coins and represents a damaged but visually interesting decorative piece. The Angular Bismuth Ornament at 700 coins is a mid-tier option with a more structured geometric look. The Round Bismuth Ornament at 1,100 coins is the most expensive and polished of the three, suited for prominent placement in a well-furnished room or camp.
The House Felix Decorative Stone Merchant at Virel is associated with House Felix, the count's house of Hernand focused on intellectual pursuits, cartography, and literary production. House Felix controls territory that includes the Coalvale Workshop and Southern Quarry, making their involvement in stone and mineral trade consistent with their resource portfolio.
This merchant carries seven items, making their stock significantly larger than the Stelecrest ornament seller. The inventory blends decorative stone products with basic raw materials including Stone and Iron Ore and Copper Ore at standard prices. This makes the House Felix Decorative Stone Merchant a hybrid shop that functions partially as a Mineral Vendor and partially as a decorative goods seller.
Item | Price (Silver Coins) | Type |
|---|---|---|
50 | Inventory expansion | |
10 | Raw material | |
18 | Raw material / refinement | |
45 | Raw material / refinement | |
Additional stone/ore items | Varies | Decorative / raw material |
The Small Bag at 50 bronze coins is the most practical purchase for players who need inventory space rather than minerals. Small Bags expand carrying capacity and are always a worthwhile buy when available. Stone at 10 bronze coins and Iron Ore at 18 bronze coins match the standard Mineral Vendor prices, making this a usable ore source even if its primary focus is decorative goods.
The table below lists the standard prices for all mineral types sold across Mineral Vendors in Crimson Desert. Prices are consistent across all vendors. The stock quantity varies by vendor and resets at in-game midnight.
Item | Price | Stock per Restock | Primary Use | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
10 Silver Coins | 6+ | Basic crafting, construction | All Mineral Vendors | |
18 Silver Coins | 6 | Weapon and armor refinement | ||

2.50 Silver Coins | 3 to 5 | Smithing and gear refinement | Cairn House and regional vendors | |
2.50 Silver Coins | 3 to 5 | Jewelry crafting and refinement | Cairn House and regional vendors | |
2.50 Silver Coins | 3 to 5 | High-tier weapon and armor refinement | Regional vendors; later-game areas only | |

Because each Mineral Vendor carries a limited quantity per restock cycle, players who need large amounts of ore for heavy refinement sessions benefit from visiting multiple vendors on the same in-game day. The following approach maximizes your mineral intake without extended gathering runs.
Unlock vendors early. Clear Cairn House as soon as you arrive in Hernand. Defeating the Bleed Bandits there is one of the first things worth doing after reaching the region, and it gives you immediate access to the earliest mineral shop.
Buy the full stock at each vendor. Pick up every unit of Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and any available gems at each vendor you visit. Leaving stock behind is wasted opportunity.
Sleep to midnight to restock. After visiting all available vendors, find a bed and sleep until 0:00 in-game time. This triggers the midnight restock and allows you to buy another round from the same vendors.
Chain vendors as you unlock them. Each newly liberated Mineral Vendor doubles your daily ore acquisition. Prioritizing vendor unlocks through faction quests compounds your restocking efficiency significantly.
Supplement with Rhett in Hernand. Rhett's Equipment Shop in the City of Hernand stocks three Iron Ore per restock at 18 bronze coins each. He is not a Mineral Vendor but is a useful overflow source for Iron Ore.
Cairn House is the single most important early-game Mineral Vendor to unlock. Clearing it should be one of your first priorities after reaching Hernand. It gives you access to Iron Ore and Copper Ore at vendor prices before you have the tools and skill to farm ore veins efficiently.
Pushing armor refinement to level 4 on all pieces is the highest-priority early upgrade. The stat gain per level is largest in the first four tiers. Buying Iron Ore and Copper Ore from Cairn House regularly is the cheapest way to fuel those upgrades.
Garnet and Azurite each cost 2.50 silver coins and restock in batches of three to five. If you need gems for jewelry refinement and do not want to hunt ore nodes, buy the full vendor stock every in-game day. Three restocks will typically net you enough gems for a significant refinement push.
Epidote is a late-game refinement material that does not become available at vendor shops until story progress unlocks the relevant regions. Before then, you may find limited amounts at regional mineral vendors in Pailune or Delesyia. Purchasing rather than mining is the recommended approach for Epidote because it is locked behind story gates for gathering.
The House Felix Decorative Stone Merchant at Virel sells Small Bags for 50 bronze coins alongside its stone inventory. If you visit for ore, check whether you need a bag at the same time. Small Bags are a limited-availability inventory upgrade and worth grabbing whenever they are in stock.
Bismuth ornaments from the Stelecrest Decorative Stone Merchant are purely decorative. They are not used in crafting or refinement. Buy them if you want to furnish your camp or housing space with distinctive bismuth-themed decor, but do not confuse them with functional crafting materials.
All Mineral Vendor inventories restock at in-game midnight. If you need to maximize ore acquisition, buy the current stock, sleep in a nearby bed to midnight, and buy again. Two restocks in a session double your take without any additional travel.
For large-scale ore needs that exceed what vendors can supply, pair vendor buying with active mining. The Hernand River Cliffs and Howling Hill area offer 14 Iron and 13 Copper deposits respectively per run. Combining vendor purchases with a mining route every few days is the most efficient way to maintain a surplus of refinement materials.
