Overview

The Husky is a thick-furred, wolf-like dog breed adapted to cold climates. With its piercing blue eyes and distinctive facial markings, the Husky is one of the most striking dog breeds in Crimson Desert. Known for its endurance and energy, the Husky thrives in the colder northern regions of Pywel and the mountainous Kweiden territory.

Location
Found in Pailune near Beighen and south of Scholastone in Hernand. More commonly found in the Kweiden region and colder areas of Pywel.
Taming
To tame the Husky, approach it in the wild and interact with it to begin building Trust. Dogs can be petted directly by pressing the interaction button. Each petting action grants +5 Trust, and you can pet up to five times per in-game day for a maximum of +25 Trust from petting alone.
You can also feed the Husky up to three times per in-game day. Drop food from your inventory near the dog to feed it. Huskies prefer Bird Meat as their favorite food, granting +35 trust per feeding. They are slightly harder to tame than other breeds due to their independent nature.
Once the Husky reaches 100 Trust, hold the interaction button to register it as your companion. Dogs can often be tamed within one to two in-game days with consistent petting and feeding with their favorite food.
Feeding
The Husky's favorite food is Bird Meat, which grants the maximum +35 Trust per feeding. Other accepted foods grant +10 Trust per feeding.
Dogs accept a wide variety of meat, fish, and prepared foods. Top food items include Small Bone and Large Bone (+25 pts each), followed by various cooked and raw meats (+10 to +20 pts). Daily feeding is limited to three times per in-game day, with the day resetting at midnight in-game time.
Abilities
Like all pets in Crimson Desert, the Husky automatically runs around the battlefield after combat and loots items from enemy corpses. Pets do not fight, attack enemies, or take damage. They function exclusively as automatic loot collectors.
Pets disappear when you mount your horse and reappear when you dismount. Only one pet can be active at a time, with remaining registered pets stored in your inventory's Pets tab.
Equipment
The Husky can wear Pet Equipment, including one headpiece and one body outfit at a time. Pet armor is purely cosmetic and does not provide combat stats. Pet cosmetics can be purchased from Milou's Shop in Pororin Village or the Demeniss Pet Tailor in the southeast corner of Demeniss.
Tips
Dogs are generally faster to tame than cats. With their favorite food, many dogs can reach 100 Trust within a single in-game day.
Petting resets daily at midnight in-game time. Plan your visits accordingly to maximize daily Trust gains.
Dogs looting ability works automatically after combat. There is no need to command or direct your pet to pick up items.
You can register up to 30 pets total. Completing the full roster unlocks the Natural Collector trophy.
Confirmed Spawn Locations
Two reliable spots have been confirmed for encountering the Husky in the wild, both of which share their spawn pool with other pets.
Cabin in Hernand
A small cabin in Hernand is one of the better early-game spots for rolling dog spawns. Along with the Husky, the cabin also hosts the Greyhound and other dog variants. If the breed currently lingering at the cabin is not the one you want, you can reroll the spawn pool: fast-travel away to a nearby travel point and then back to the cabin, and a new set of dogs will appear. Repeat until the Husky spawns.
Beighen Village (Near Pailune)
The Beighen settlement, located near Pailune, has a mixed spawn pool that combines Huskies, Jindos, and several cat variants. This makes Beighen one of the stronger farming spots if you are collecting cats and dogs in the same run, since a single loop through the village can produce candidates for both. The Husky can appear in this mix alongside other dogs and kittens wandering the streets and around the outer buildings.
Taming Foods
Like other dogs, the Husky responds best to meat-based treats. Drop its preferred food on the ground near it to trigger the feed interaction, then pet it between feeds to top up Companion Trust toward the 100 threshold. See the Pet Taming Guide for the full workflow shared across all Companions.
Preferred food is Bird Meat, which grants 35 trust per feed, the highest value available for dogs. A Small Bone is the strongest secondary option and pairs well with petting to finish off the last stretch of the trust bar without burning all of your meat stock.
If you have unlocked the Companionship III abyss core, slot it before starting a taming run. The core grants an extra three trust per interaction on top of the food value, shaving multiple feeds off the path from zero to 100. The Companion Affection Guide breaks down how these bonuses stack with petting and feeding across the daily interaction cap.
Taming Food Summary
Food | Trust Gain | Notes |
|---|---|---|
+35 per feed | Top preferred food for dogs. Highest trust per feed available. | |
Secondary food | Good fallback; pair with petting interactions to finish the last trust points. | |
+3 per interaction | Abyss core bonus. Stacks on top of food value; equip before starting a taming run. |
