Fullmoon Slash is an LB (Left Bumper) power Abyss Gear in Crimson Desert that unleashes a moon-shaped blade of energy forward. The projectile travels in a straight line and passes through all enemies in its path, making it the only LB power with true ranged capability. While the range is its key selling point, the damage is moderate and the same limitations that affect all LB powers apply: awkward triggering and incompatibility with elemental imbue.
When triggered, Kliff swings his weapon and releases a crescent-shaped energy blade that flies forward from the player's position. The blade travels a significant distance and passes through every enemy in its path without stopping, meaning it can hit multiple enemies that are lined up in a row. The projectile maintains its damage as it passes through, dealing the same damage to the first target as the last.
Like other LB powers, Fullmoon Slash activates through the roll + attack input combination with the LB button. The player rolls, then immediately presses the attack input to fire the energy blade. The rolling trigger means the player is always in motion when the ability fires, which suits the ranged nature of the attack since the player can maintain distance from the target.
Fullmoon Slash deals moderate damage per hit. Against a single target, the damage is acceptable but not exceptional. The real value is in the range and piercing properties: the player can theoretically stay at maximum range against a boss and use repeated roll-LB combos to deal damage without ever entering melee range.
However, when compared to the fire-imbued turning slash build using Greysoul Howling and Ground Surge, Fullmoon Slash falls significantly short. The turning slash build delivers multiple hits with afterimage replication and fire spike explosions per attack, resulting in far higher damage per combo. Against bosses, the raw DPS of a ranged Fullmoon Slash approach simply cannot keep up with the fire turning slash meta, making the ranged strategy feel like an effort in futility for damage optimization.
Category | Assessment |
|---|---|
Range | Excellent. Only LB power with true ranged projectile capability. |
Piercing | Excellent. Blade passes through all enemies in its path. |
Single-Target Damage | Moderate. Acceptable for ranged poke but outclassed by melee options. |
AoE Potential | Situational. Only effective when enemies are lined up in a row. |
Elemental Imbue | Incompatible. LB powers bypass elemental imbue entirely. |
Trigger | Awkward. Roll + attack input required, same as other LB powers. |
Fullmoon Slash and Abyssal Rays are the two primary LB power options. Abyssal Rays deals higher raw damage per trigger but requires the player to roll past the enemy and turn around, creating a close-range rolling gameplay loop. Fullmoon Slash allows the player to stay at range, trading damage for safety. Both share the fundamental limitation of being incompatible with elemental imbue, which prevents them from competing with fire turning slash builds.
Fullmoon Slash offers a unique ranged playstyle that no other abyss core can replicate. The ability to hit enemies from across the arena and pierce through multiple targets gives it genuine utility in specific situations. However, the moderate damage, awkward roll trigger, and inability to use elemental imbue mean it cannot compete with the fire turning slash meta for raw damage output. It is best suited for players who value safety and ranged poke over maximum DPS.
Use roll + attack (LB) to trigger. The roll keeps you mobile and at range.
The blade passes through all enemies, so look for opportunities to line up multiple targets.
Best for kiting bosses at range when melee engagement is too dangerous.
LB powers bypass elemental imbue, so you lose fire turning slash combos while using this.
For raw damage, the fire imbue turning slash build with Greysoul Howling and Ground Surge is significantly stronger.
