Overview
Version 1.00.02 is the day-one patch for Crimson Desert, released on March 20, 2026. The update weighs approximately 3.1 GB and was made available at launch on Steam (PC), with PlayStation receiving it on March 20, 2026 at 1:00 UTC. Xbox, Epic Games Store, and Mac App Store versions were confirmed to follow at a later time.
Quest Changes
A tutorial quest has been added at the start of Chapter 3 to help players learn about Abyss Gears. This addresses a common reviewer complaint about the system being poorly explained.
Fixed an issue where certain quests would not progress properly.
Skill Changes
Several character-specific skill improvements were introduced:

Improved usability for Housing mode, addressing interaction and placement issues.
Recently viewed cutscenes can now be fast-forwarded more quickly, improving overall pacing.
Adjusted QTE difficulty when captured by enemies to gradually increase based on the number of times captured, rather than being uniformly difficult from the start.
Resolved a display bug where the Greymane comrade count showed lower than the actual number or prevented some comrades from appearing.
NPC and Dialogue
Improved the dialogue, voice, and reactions of some NPCs to feel more natural and better fit their situations.
Fixed voice and subtitle mismatches during NPC greetings.
Corrected abnormal NPC and animal interaction issues.
Various improvements and fixes to animations, movements, lip-sync, visual clipping, visual effects, and voice acting for NPCs and animals.
Localization
Addressed various translation errors and improved localization quality across all supported languages.
UI Fixes
Fixed text display issues, functionality bugs, and sound effect problems across various UI elements and menus.
Performance and Stability
Applied optimization and stability improvements across PC and console platforms. Resolved several crash issues that could occur during specific gameplay scenarios.
