Overview
The Coelacanth is a rare ancient fish species in Crimson Desert. Known in the real world as a "living fossil" that was thought to be extinct for millions of years, the Coelacanth in Pywel is equally elusive. It is a large, challenging catch that sits above standard freshwater and saltwater species in both difficulty and value. A golden variant, the Golden Coelacanth, also exists as a legendary-tier catch.
Where to Catch
The Coelacanth is found to the west of the Cliff of Despair in the Deleysia region. This is a remote area that requires significant travel to reach. Once the species has been discovered and registered in the Knowledge Codex, its exact fishing spot can be displayed on the world map for future visits.
Uses
Selling: The Coelacanth fetches a high price at any vendor, though less than its golden variant.
Cooking: Can be cleaned into Fish Fillet for cooking recipes that restore health.
Knowledge: Fills a rare entry in the Bestiary under the Aquatic Animals category.
Tips
The Deleysia region is accessed later in the game. You may not be able to reach this fish until the story progresses sufficiently.
Bring a Fine Fishing Rod if possible, as the Coelacanth is a large and powerful fish that fights hard on the line.
After catching the standard Coelacanth, head to Pailune to attempt the Golden Coelacanth for an even rarer catch.
