Overview
The Clockwork Fish is one of the most unusual legendary fish in Crimson Desert. While some rare fish are golden variants of common species, the Clockwork Fish appears to be a unique mechanical or magically-altered creature, fitting with the game's blend of natural and supernatural elements tied to the Abyss. It appears in the commonly documented five-species legendary-fish list. Since Patch 1.08, legendary fish cannot be sold, used or discarded, so the older 10-silver sale guidance no longer applies.
Where to Catch
The earlier route places its map-marked pond southeast of Tashkalp, within the Crimson Desert region (the arid northern part of Pywel). The reviewed guide descriptions identify sand or quicksand rather than open water, so approach it as a sand-covered search area instead of an ordinary visible lake. Tashkalp itself is a recognizable landmark for navigation. Once the species is registered in the Knowledge Codex, its location can be viewed on the map.
Uses
Protected catch: Patch 1.08 prevents legendary fish from being sold, used or discarded. The update also restored previously sold, used or discarded legendary fish to inventory.
Pond: After completing the pond-construction mission at Howling Hill or Pailune Camp, add the catch from inventory or pond management. Legendary fish remain protected from pond capacity and lifespan losses.
Knowledge: Adds a legendary entry to the Bestiary Knowledge Codex.
Tips
The Crimson Desert region is the arid northern area of the map. Prepare for hot conditions and potentially hostile wildlife including rhinos.
The Clockwork Fish is one of five confirmed legendary fish, alongside the Golden Tench, Golden Carp, Golden Coelacanth, and Coelacanth.
Like other legendary fish, it requires patience when reeling in. Only reel when the fish stops fighting.
Quicksand location warning
The apparent pond is described by two guides as sand or quicksand rather than an ordinary visible lake. Both accounts use the central rock as a search position, but their rod-versus-hand pickup instructions differ. Survey from the rock and check the available interaction instead of assuming the fish will be visible in open water.
