Overview
Chasing a Shadow is the 108th main quest in Crimson Desert and the first mission in the To Demeniss sub-chapter of Chapter 8: Blood Coronation. Andrew and Naira have left a hidden message at the Greymane shrine. Their intelligence report identifies Count Azerian's manor as the center of the Demeniss intelligence network, pointing Kliff toward the infiltration missions that follow.

Walkthrough
Return to Howling Hill
Travel back to the old Greymane camp in Hernand. If you have unlocked fast travel points nearby, use them to cut down on travel time. The shrine is located at the camp's central area.
Examine the Dragon Totem
Find the dragon totem. At the shrine, locate the dragon totem standing next to the wooden shrine structure.
Extract the letter. Use L1/LB to examine the totem, then press Square/X to interact. A hidden letter falls out.
Read the Letter
Open your inventory. Find the purple item titled "Report on Myurdin's Whereabouts."
Read the report. Press X/A and hold L1/LB to read through the letter. The report singles out Count Azerian's manor as the location where all Demeniss intelligence converges, setting up the next three infiltration quests.
Notes
This is a short exploration quest with no combat. It functions as a narrative bridge between the Ashen Steps and the infiltration missions.
The report mentions both Andrew and Naira's findings. Their intelligence work has been happening off-screen while Kliff assisted Maegu.
After reading the letter, the quest completes and Blazing Fire begins, sending you to Rustleaf Farm in central Demeniss.
