Refining stations are workshops that turn raw materials into refined goods in Windrose. They sit between gathering and crafting: ore becomes ingots, hides become leather, plant fiber becomes cloth, and so on. Each station is built once at a base and then used to process stacks of materials over time.
What They Do
Every refining station takes a specific kind of raw input and returns a refined output that higher-tier recipes need. A typical base keeps several running side by side so that ingots, cloth, leather, and ground goods are all stocked before the player sits down at a Crafting bench.
Station | Role |

Smelts ore into metal ingots | |

Tips
Build the basic Smelting Furnace early; ingots gate most weapon and armor recipes.
Several stations grant a Hearth comfort bonus, so clustering them near living quarters doubles as base comfort.
The Large Smelting Furnace is the upgrade path once Foothills Iron Ingot is available.
