Both oils are item level 4 and stack to 20. They sit in different recipe families: Coconut Oil is an Uncommon cooking reagent for tropical dishes, while Flax Oil is a Common oil that doubles as a neutral cooking base and a feed for higher-tier ship and textile work.

In several dishes Flax Oil and Coconut Oil are interchangeable, so most cooks press whichever input they have the larger stockpile of at the time.
Placement Strategy
The Press is a compact refining station focused on oil extraction. Coconut Oil is a core cooking reagent and Flax Oil feeds the higher-tier ship fitting and textile recipes. The Press's in-game tooltip reads "Operate with care," which is flavor rather than a warning; the station behaves the same as any other refining unit.
Tips
Farm Coconuts at the Seedbed for Plants or buy them from the Merchant: Food if a closer beach run is unavailable.
Flax Seeds come from harvested flax plots; Flax Oil is typically crafted after the first successful flax farming loop.
The Press is small enough to fit alongside the Cooking Fire and Spinning Wheel in a single refining hut; plan camp layout accordingly.
Each press batch consumes 4 Coconut or 4 Flax Seeds per unit, so keep a buffer of inputs on hand before queuing a long run; a starter orchard of a few coconut trees and one mature Flax bed keeps the station fed without extra gathering trips.
