Privateer's Tricorne is the Rare head piece of the Privateer's Regalia set in Windrose. The piece is tied to the People of Tortuga Provisioner. The plan unlocks at specific Reputation ranks with that faction; the Coat and Pants plans open at Rank 2 and the remaining pieces at higher ranks. Once the plan is unlocked, the piece is crafted at the Armor and Clothing Workshop like every other Rare armor piece.

Overview
Rarity: Rare
Slot: Head
Set: Privateer's Regalia
Item Level: Base ilvl 1; scales to ilvl 11 through tier upgrades
In-Game Description
"An elegant attire worn by captains. It's just as easy to deal lethal blows during a boarding operation as to strut about at the governor's reception."
Defense
Like all Rare and Uncommon armor, Privateer's Tricorne has three crafting tiers that set its base Defense. Each tier can be upgraded several more levels at the Upgrading Station using the same recipe materials.
Item Level | Defense | Craft Tier |
|---|---|---|
1 | 100 DEF | Base tier |
6 | 200 DEF | Second tier (upgraded recipe) |
11 | 300 DEF | Third tier (top recipe) |
Crafting
Requires the craft plan Plans: Privateer's Tricorne to be unlocked first. The Plans: Privateer's Tricorne is sold by the People of Tortuga Provisioner at Reputation Rank 4 for 300 Piastres; the Provisioner is reached by building reputation with People of Tortuga.
Item Level | Station | Materials |
|---|---|---|
1 | 3 Coarse Fabric, 2 Rough Hide | |
6 | 3 Linen Fabric, 2 Tanned Leather, 1 Sewing Tools | |
11 |
Each tier unlocks a new workshop attachment: the Shoemaker's Bench at ilvl 6 and the Material Rack at ilvl 11. Both attach to the Armor and Clothing Workshop and require its Bonfire coverage to function.
Set Bonuses
Privateer's Tricorne counts toward the Privateer's Regalia 5-piece set. Set bonuses apply globally once the stated number of pieces are equipped at the same time.
Pieces | Bonus |
|---|---|
2-piece | Increases Critical Hit Chance by 10%. |
4-piece | Increases Critical Damage by 10% for each nearby enemy, up to 30%. |
Set Pieces
All five pieces of the set, for mixing and matching toward the 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses:
Piece | Slot |
|---|---|
Head | |
Chest | |
Hands | |
Legs | |
Feet |
Bonuses are shared across the whole set, so they are identical no matter which piece you read. The Privateer's Regalia page lists the authoritative values and any later balance changes.
Flavor Text
"We are not pirates. We are privateers. We have papers, seals, and good lawyers." (captain Benjamin Hornigold)
Notes
Counts as one piece toward the Privateer's Regalia 2-piece and 4-piece bonuses: pairing it with a second piece from the same set is usually the minimum to get value out of the plan.
The Privateer's Regalia set is a crit-focused melee kit: the 2-piece Critical Hit Chance and the 4-piece stacking Critical Damage favor Mastery builds that fight surrounded, since the bonus grows with each nearby enemy up to 30%. It suits boarding actions where you are swarmed.
The plan is bought outright from the People of Tortuga Provisioner at Reputation Rank 4 for 300 Piastres, so reach that rank before farming the upgrade materials. Higher tiers use Linen Fabric, Tarred Fabric, and Crocodile Hide Piece.

Privateer's Tricorne is a crafted item and does not drop from chests or enemies. The only way to obtain it is to craft it once the plan is unlocked, then upgrade it through its tiers. Disassembling it returns part of its base materials. See Privateer's Regalia for the full set and its other pieces.
