Headband is the Common head-slot piece of the starter outfit in Windrose. It is a standalone Armor item with no set bonus, equipped by default after the prologue shipwreck rather than crafted. Every character begins the game wearing this piece in the head slot.

Defense
90 DEF at Item Level 1. Common-rarity armor has the lowest base Defense in the game and limited upgrade headroom; it is almost always replaced within the first few hours of play.
Set Bonuses
Common-rarity starter armor does not carry a set bonus and cannot be ascended to higher rarity. It is placeholder gear until the first Uncommon piece is crafted.
Notes
Cannot be re-crafted once lost or replaced. Keep in mind the Common tier has no set bonus and minimal upgrade headroom at the Upgrading Station.
The torn state of the starter outfit is the game's visual shorthand for the protagonist's opening circumstances: a freelance courier whose ship and crew were lost in Blackbeard's ambush during the prologue, leaving the player washed up at the start of the Islander Quest on the Starting Island in reduced dress.
Replace it as soon as the first Uncommon piece can be crafted at the Armor and Clothing Workshop: typically a Survivor's Set piece. Disassembling the Torn piece at the Disassembly Table returns nothing meaningful, so vendors or stashes are the usual disposal route.
Because it is Common rarity, the Headband has the lowest base Defense of any head piece and cannot be ascended. Treat it as a placeholder until you can craft an Uncommon head piece such as a Survivor's Set hat, then a Rare set head piece for a real Defense and set-bonus jump.
Head Slot Progression
The Headband sits at the bottom of the head-slot progression. Replacing it is one of the first armor upgrades most players make.
