36-Pounders: Tempered is a 36-pound ship cannon, a Rare-rarity modded variant that requires a Plans paper to unlock the recipe. Forged and handled with restraint, these guns are meant to be fired with deliberation, not haste. Only Frigate-class hulls support 36-pound cannons in their main battery, and only the Blackbeard Frigate variant as an upgrade from the default 24-pound loadout.

Tempered cannons reward disciplined crews who can hold their broadsides for 6 seconds after reload. Run them on ships you intend to stay at range and pick your volleys with, not on skirmishers. Pairs naturally with Naval Tactics I: Ambush for patient burst opens.
