12-Pounder: Tempered

Overview

The 12-Pounder: Tempered is the Tempered variant of the 12-Pounders cannon line, a mid-calibre broadside gun that sits between the lighter starter cannons and the heavier 24-Pounders and 36-Pounders. The Tempered finish is the upgraded grade of the 12-pounder, available at Rare and Epic rarity, and is forged at the Shipwright's Workshop once you have learned its plan.

Forged and handled with restraint, these guns are meant to be fired with deliberation, not haste.

Variant Notes

Tempered guns trade rate of fire for hitting power, rewarding aimed broadsides over rapid volleys. To unlock the recipe you first need Plans: Tempered 12-Pounders. Crafting consumes Copper Ingot and Wooden Plank, and the gun can later be ascended with Tumbaga Ingot for higher rarity. It can be mounted on every Ketch, Brig, and Frigate hull, including the Brethren and Blackbeard variants, as listed below.
