CN vs Global
August 23, 2026 at 07:39 AM
Rewrote the page around the fact that no release outside Mainland China has been announced, replaced the speculative global-track section with the shipped Mainland configuration, and removed three unsourced claims about a wider release
Lord of Mysteries is a Mainland China release. It launched there on August 21, 2026 and, as of late August 2026, that is the only market it has released in. A version outside Mainland China has not been announced. No date, no region list, no storefront, no server plan and no localisation plan has been published, and the studio has made no statement about a wider release in either direction.
This page exists to say exactly that, precisely, and to set out what is actually known about the Mainland service so that readers outside China can judge their own options honestly. It is not a comparison of two live regions, because there is only one.
It is worth being explicit about the evidence, because a good deal of secondhand coverage says otherwise and none of it is sourced to the studio.
The studio's English-facing landing page has not changed since December 2025. As of August 2026 it is still a short holding page with a 2024 copyright line, and it carries no sign-up form of any kind. Any claim that pre-registration is open outside Mainland China is simply false: there is nothing on that page to sign up with. Its only interactive element is a general suggestions form.
The Mainland site's English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese URL paths return the same Simplified Chinese page. Those routes resolve, but they serve identical Chinese copy, which means no localisation has shipped anywhere on the studio's own web presence either.
There is no storefront listing outside the Mainland China storefront, and no PC storefront page anywhere, on Steam or otherwise.
Nothing in the studio's own published articles addresses an international release at all, in either direction. There is no promise and no denial.
Two consequences follow. First, the honest answer to when is not soon or later in 2026 but unknown. Second, any specific date currently circulating has no first-party origin. In particular, the November 2026 date that recurs in community discussion traces back to a superseded Mainland storefront placeholder, was never an international date, and does not become one by repetition. The August 21, 2026 launch is the launch, not a preliminary open beta ahead of a later real release.
The practical rule for a reader: treat any date, region list or language list that the studio has not published as unsourced, no matter how confidently it is stated.
What follows is the shipped Mainland configuration. It is also, by definition, the only configuration that exists.
Aspect | How it ships in Mainland China |
|---|---|
Platforms | PC, Android, iOS and HarmonyOS (鸿蒙), plus cloud gaming from Windows, macOS, Android and iOS |
Client language | Simplified Chinese only, across menu strings, voice and quest text. No official translation exists |
Distribution | The studio's own PC launcher from the official site, an Android package, the Mainland storefront listing on iOS, and separate channel builds |
Account requirement | A Mainland China mobile number, plus Mainland real-name account binding |
Cross-platform data | Full interoperability across all four platforms on an official account. Channel accounts are a separate system that shares data only within their own channel |
Minor-account limits | The Mainland play-time and spending caps required by regulation |
Probability disclosure | The Mainland randomised-reward disclosure regime (抽卡概率披露) applies, which is why pity rules for the draw systems are published |
Payment | The studio's own Mainland payment endpoint, in yuan |
Age rating | 12+ on the Mainland iOS listing, with disclosed loot boxes, frequent competitive content and occasional cartoon or fantasy violence |
Service model | 公测 open beta: permanent servers, no scheduled wipe, real-money purchases enabled |
See Release and Platforms for the launch record and the server list, and Monetization for the published pity rules the disclosure regime produces.
There is no supported route. Account creation requires a Mainland China mobile number and real-name verification, the client is Simplified Chinese only, and the payment stack is Mainland-only. Community workarounds exist and are widely discussed, but they depend on borrowed identity credentials, they violate the service's own account rules, and this wiki does not document them.
Two secondary consequences worth knowing before anyone invests time. There is no official English translation, so quest text, potion recipes and Acting Method prompts are all in Chinese. And an account made under someone else's verification details is not portable to any future release, because no migration path has been announced or, for that matter, any release to migrate to.
This section is context, not prediction. Nothing below has been announced, and none of it should be read as a signal that any of it is in progress. It is here because knowing what the work consists of is the best defence against reading a rumour as a roadmap.
A localisation pass. The game is text-heavy in a way most MMORPGs are not: the Acting Method runs on roleplay prompts, Quests and Story retells a very long novel, and the Potions and Ingredients layer is dense with named materials. That is a large translation surface before any voice work.
A publishing arrangement per region, or a decision to self-publish. None has been announced for any territory, including Southeast Asia.
Storefront listings and a PC distribution route. Neither exists today outside Mainland China.
Separate servers and account infrastructure, since the current account system is bound to Mainland verification.
Local age ratings and disclosure compliance. The randomised systems that ship today are disclosed under Mainland rules; other jurisdictions apply their own.
The reliable place to watch is the studio's own channels. A wider release would show up first as a storefront listing or a working sign-up form, not as a screenshot passed between community threads.
One thing that can be said with confidence: there is currently a single build of this game, so there is no content divergence to track. The world, the six playable Pathways, the Sequence ladder, the Acting Method loop and the faction structure are one game.
[[pathways|Pathways]]: six playable at launch, with the same Sequences ladder for each.
World: Tingen and the seven other named launch regions are the same content for everyone playing, with Backlund, the Five Seas and the West Continent staged as future updates.
Progression: the Sequence cap is set by build version, not by region.
Factions: the Seven Orthodox Churches, Nighthawks, Mandated Punishers, MI9 and Red Gloves appear identically.
If a release elsewhere ever happens, differences would most plausibly appear in patch timing, payment rules and rating-driven content adjustments rather than in the game's systems. That is a general expectation about how MMORPGs are operated across markets, not a statement about this one.
Three claims this page previously carried have been removed rather than softened. Each described a release that does not exist: a list of additional language versions with a year attached, a specific autumn date lifted from a storefront field, and a rule about how progress would work across regional servers. None of the three had a first-party origin, and the third described servers that have never existed. They are noted here without repeating them, because a reader who meets any of them elsewhere is most likely meeting an echo of this page's own earlier text rather than independent reporting.
