Rewinding Cadence is being developed as a single game with two release tracks: a mainland-China track and a global track. The two tracks share a single design vision, but they differ in build cadence, language coverage, storefront access, and the exact content available at any given moment. This page tracks what is publicly confirmed about each track and what is still in flux.
Two Tracks, One Game
The mainland-China track is the lead build. The first closed beta, closed-beta, ran on the CN track only, and Chinese-language pre-registration on the Bilibili Android storefront and the Chinese TapTap listing opened months ahead of any global pre-registration window. The English-language X account and the YouTube channel are global-track communication, but their feeds have so far mirrored CN-track milestones rather than driving them.
Build Cadence
The CN track receives builds first. The global track will follow on a delay that has not been formally announced. In practice, expect the CN track to run a closed beta, an open beta, and a soft launch ahead of any global launch, with each step preceded by Chinese-language patch notes and dev letters. Global-track players should plan for a meaningful gap between CN-track patch reveals and the equivalent feature landing on the global build.
Language Coverage
Confirmed languages on the CN track: Simplified Chinese (text, voice, UI). On the global track, language plans have been signaled but not finalized. The studio's English-language YouTube channel uses English subtitles for trailers, which is the strongest public signal that English text will be supported at global launch. Voice-over support for English and other languages has not been confirmed. See localization-and-languages for the full language tracker.
Storefront Differences
The CN track is distributed through Chinese-region storefronts: the Bilibili Android storefront for Android pre-registration, the Chinese TapTap listing for an alternative Android registration channel, and the studio's official Chinese site as the canonical hub. The global track will use the international TapTap listing for global pre-registration; the Apple App Store and Google Play listings have not yet appeared as of mid-2026. PC distribution outside mainland China has not been publicly attached to a specific storefront.
Account and Region Locking
Whether a CN account can play on the global track or vice versa has not been disclosed. Live-service games from Tencent-affiliated studios usually region-lock their accounts so that the two tracks do not share progression, currency, or social graphs. This article will be updated when the studio publishes a definitive policy.
What Travels Between Tracks
Cosmetic continuity, soundtrack continuity, and story continuity are expected to travel between the tracks. Numbers may not. Public material has been clear that monetization, sequence caps, party caps, and dice difficulty values can shift between builds. A CN-track tutorial that asserts a specific sequence number may not match the global-track value at launch. Players who follow CN-track guides should treat the framing as accurate but the specific numbers as build-conditional.
Translation Notes
Some in-game terms have multiple English renderings that travel between the tracks. The Sunblight Tide appears as Corroding Tide in some early translation passes; the official tagline uses Sunblight Tide. The Returner is sometimes rendered as the Recursor in older trailers. The glossary tracks the canonical English spelling and the alternates so that a CN-track guide and a global-track guide can be cross-referenced without confusion.
What Has Not Been Decided
Whether the two tracks will share patch numbering or run separate version trees.
Whether premium currency purchased on one track is honored on the other.
Whether community competitive features (rankings, leaderboards) span the tracks or are split.
Whether early-access invitations on the global track will be tied to mainland-China pre-registration history.
All four are open questions as of the Crimson Test era. They will be tracked here as official answers appear.
