Zorua's Hide-and-Sneak Contest
July 22, 2026 at 02:33 AM
Initial version (2026-07-22): documented the Zorua contest dates, version and story requirements, the full time-based reward ladder, the trophy, and the multiplayer prize split
Zorua's Hide-and-Sneak Contest is a free limited-time event in Pokemon Pokopia that ran from July 19 to July 27, 2026. It is the fifth in-game event and the first built around a minigame rather than an event currency. During the contest you play Hide-and-Sneak against Zorua and its friends, and the faster you clear a round, the better the prize. Your best time also becomes a record that other players can try to beat.
Unlike the More Spores for Hoppip and Sableye events, there is no event shop and no event currency to farm. Rewards drop directly from your best recorded time, so the whole event is a time trial.

The contest has three hard requirements and one story gate. All four must be met or Zorua will not appear.
Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
Game version | Version 1.1.1 or later. Check the title screen or the HOME menu options; see Version History and Updates |
Internet | An internet connection is needed the first time you play the event |
System clock | The Nintendo Switch 2 clock must be set to the real date. The event does not trigger outside its window |
Story progress | Clear Zorua's request at Bleak Beach and unlock Hide-and-Sneak |
You also need at least one rebuilt Pokemon Center. Zorua stands in front of every Pokemon Center you have restored, so a town without one never hosts the contest. See Rebuilding Pokemon Centers if you have not built one yet.
Update to Version 1.1.1 or later and launch the game while connected to the internet.
Travel to a town with a rebuilt Pokemon Center.
Talk to Zorua standing outside the Pokemon Center to hear the contest rules and enter.
Play a round of Hide-and-Sneak and clear it as quickly as you can.
Replay as often as you like. Only your best time counts toward rewards, so a bad round costs you nothing.
Prizes are awarded against your best recorded time, and the ladder is cumulative going down: a faster clear unlocks every tier above it as well. The Hide-and-Sneak Trophy sits in the middle of the ladder at 1 minute 30 seconds, so it is comfortably reachable without a near-perfect run.

The trophy is a display item described in-game as a trophy awarded to those who swiftly won a hide-and-sneak contest. It is not registered in the collection, so it does not count toward completion tracking. It works the same way as the Jump Rope Trophy from the earlier contest event: a decoration that proves you cleared the challenge quickly.
The contest supports multiplayer, and the prize rules differ depending on where you play. This catches people out, because a fast run in the wrong session can leave you with nothing.
Where you play | Who competes | Who gets the prizes | Record set |
|---|---|---|---|
Another player's town | Host and guests together | The host only | That town's best record |
A Cloud Island | Everyone on the island | Only the player who set the best time | That Cloud Island's best record |
Spectator mode cannot enter the contest. If you want to host the event online in your own town, use a blank town, and talk to Zorua to hear the contest rules before you open the session. Skipping that step leaves the contest unavailable to your visitors.
The event also runs on Cloud Islands, so a shared island can keep a leaderboard of its own across everyone who visits during the window.
Learn the route before chasing a time. The clock rewards a clean line to the goal far more than raw speed.
Use Camouflage deliberately rather than constantly. It slows Ditto down, so hold it for the moments a seeker is actually looking your way.
Run the contest in a town you know well. Familiar terrain is worth more than any single trick.
If you only want the trophy, aim for 1 minute 30 seconds and stop there. The tiers below it are material rewards you can farm elsewhere.
Play in your own town or as the Cloud Island record holder if you want the prizes. As a guest in someone else's town you help set their record, not your own reward list.
