Water types took center stage on August 5, 2026: the free Version 2.0.0 update added the move Dive for underwater exploration, and the paid Expansion Pass opened Bubbly Basin, an underwater town with its own 50-entry Basin Pokedex. That roster is heavy on Water types, running from the Shellder, Horsea, and Totodile lines through Popplio, Mudkip, and Corphish to the Mythical Pokemon Manaphy and Phione. Water-type Pokemon tend to appear near hydrated habitats, seaside areas, docks, and fishing spots.
