The Young Adult life stage is the third life stage in inZOI and lasts for 10 in-game days. This is the stage where every major gameplay system becomes available. Ambitions, Desired Life, university enrollment, full-time careers, romance, marriage, pregnancy, and business ownership all unlock at this point.
Young Adulthood is typically the most active and feature-rich period in a Zoi's life. The combination of a 10-day duration and full access to every system makes this the stage where players accomplish most of their goals.
Young Adults remain in this stage for 10 in-game days before aging into the Adult stage. The 10-day window provides enough time to establish a career, start a family, and pursue personal ambitions, though careful time management is still important.
The full career system opens up during this stage. Young Adults can pursue both Active careers (where you follow the Zoi to their workplace and perform tasks directly) and Rabbit Hole careers (where the Zoi leaves the lot and returns after work). Career progression depends on skill levels, job performance, and relationship building with coworkers.
Active career paths provide a hands-on gameplay experience, while rabbit hole careers run in the background, freeing the player to manage other household members or focus on different activities.
Young Adults can enroll in university to further their education. Two universities are available in the game:
University enrollment provides skill boosts, unique social opportunities, and can unlock career advantages. Completing a degree may open higher-level career positions or improve starting salary.
The Young Adult stage fully unlocks the romance progression system. While Teenagers can date, Young Adults gain access to the complete relationship pipeline:
Dating and building romantic relationships
Proposing engagement
Planning and holding a wedding ceremony
Marriage and moving in together
Young Adults can start a family through multiple paths:
Natural pregnancy: A Zoi can suggest having a baby. Pregnancy lasts 3 in-game days from conception to birth.
Adoption: Available through the computer or laptop interface. Adoption brings a child into the household without pregnancy.
Medical birth: Costs 1,000 Meow and works for all gender combinations, providing an inclusive path to parenthood.
The business management system (added in v0.5.0) allows Young Adults to purchase, set up, and operate their own businesses. Available business types include Cafe, Bakery, Restaurant, Bar, Florist Shop, Confectionery, Gym, School, and Open Lot.
Business ownership requires purchasing a lot, equipping it with the right furniture and equipment, hiring employees, and managing daily operations. Successful businesses generate steady Meow income and can reach higher business ranks through positive customer reviews and efficient management.
The Ambitions system becomes fully active during the Young Adult stage. Ambitions are long-term goals that guide a Zoi's life direction and provide satisfaction bonuses when milestones are reached. The Desired Life system works alongside ambitions, allowing players to define what their Zoi wants most out of life.
All 13 adult skills continue to be available and can be leveled freely. With 10 days and no school obligations (unless enrolled in university), Young Adults have more free time to dedicate to skill development than teenagers. Most Zois reach their highest skill levels during this stage or the subsequent Adult stage.
Establish your career early in the Young Adult stage. The sooner you start, the more promotions you can earn before aging up.
If you plan to have children, account for the 3-day pregnancy and the time needed to care for a baby when planning your schedule.
University is optional but beneficial. Weigh the time investment against the career advantages it provides.
Starting a business requires significant upfront Meow investment. Make sure you have enough savings or a stable income before taking the plunge.
Balance career, family, and personal goals carefully. Ten days sounds like a lot, but it goes fast when juggling multiple priorities.
Build strong friendships and professional connections. The relationships formed now carry through every remaining life stage.
