Initial version
The Pet System in inZOI allows Zois to own and care for companion animals. Pets are household members that require regular attention, food, and interaction. They affect their owner's emotions and needs, providing companionship that helps maintain Social and Fun levels. Pet care is an ongoing responsibility that rewards attentive owners with a happier household.
inZOI features cats and dogs as primary pet options, with additional animals available in certain locations.
Pet Type | Key Traits |
|---|---|
Cats | Independent, lower maintenance, fits well with busy Zois |
Dogs | More social, needs more attention, stronger emotion bonding |
Pets have their own simplified needs system, similar to Zois but with fewer categories:
Need | How to Fulfill |
|---|---|
Hunger | Fill food bowl regularly |
Attention | Pet, play with, or talk to the animal |
Cleanliness | Occasional bathing or grooming |
Exercise | Walk dogs, provide play areas for cats |
Petting and cuddling boosts both the Zoi's and pet's mood
Playing with toys strengthens the bond between pet and owner
Walking dogs provides Fitness skill XP for the Zoi
Pets can interact with each other if multiple pets are in the household
Neglected pets become anxious and may damage furniture
Pets contribute to the overall household atmosphere. Well-cared-for pets boost their owners' mood and help satisfy Social needs passively. They also count toward the 8-member household limit, so plan accordingly when adopting a pet alongside expanding the family through marriage or pregnancy.
The Cahaya islands feature wildlife encounters beyond domestic pets. The Miatara Temple is home to cats that Zois can interact with. Marine animals encountered during diving and snorkeling include turtles, dolphins, and tropical fish.
Cats are better for Zois with demanding careers since they need less attention.
Dogs provide more Social need satisfaction through active play interactions.
Remember pets count toward the household limit. Plan for them when building your family.
Keep food bowls stocked before leaving for work to prevent hunger issues while away.
