Added Gold Ore Farm Route section with fast-travel pit drop, force-palm yield, and integration into the wider three-cave gold loop
Silverwolf Cave is a natural cave located within Silver Wolf Mountain in the Pailune region. Along the cliffs at the foot of the mountain lies a spot that hints at the presence of a gold mine. The cavern features atmospheric elements including swarms of bats and golden mineral deposits throughout the interior. The Silver Wolf Mountain area is also significant as the site of a major Chapter 7 main quest and the location where the legendary white horse Royler can be tamed.

Silver Wolf Mountain sits in the northern reaches of Pailune, the icy northern region of Pywel. The cave entrance is found along the mountain's cliffside. Nearby landmarks include Second-Finger Cave in the adjacent Five-Finger Mountain, and the campsite Snowgrass Hearth by a frozen lake, positioned just below the "P" in "Pailune" on the world map.
The cavern interior is dark and atmospheric. Swarms of bats inhabit the upper reaches, and golden mineral deposits glint from the walls and floor. The hints of gold along the mountain's exterior cliffs have drawn prospectors to the area, while the cave itself offers a challenging exploration experience in the rugged Pailune terrain.
The gold deposits along the cliffs and inside the cave suggest gathering opportunities for players with a pickaxe or Force Palm ability. The frozen landscape around the cave entrance adds to the difficulty of reaching the site, especially for players traveling on foot.

Bat swarms: Found inside the cave. These may be hostile and attack on sight. Use ranged abilities or area attacks to clear them quickly.
Cold weather: The Pailune region is freezing. Players should be prepared with appropriate gear or consumables to handle the cold environment.
Difficult terrain: The mountainous approach to the cave can be treacherous, with steep cliffs and narrow ledges.
Silver Wolf Mountain is the setting for the main quest Battle at Silverwolf Mountain, the 100th main mission in Crimson Desert. This quest takes place during Chapter 7: Homecoming as part of the Decisive Battle sub-chapter.
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Quest Number | Main Quest #100 |
Chapter | Chapter 7: Homecoming (Decisive Battle) |
Prerequisite | Complete the previous main quest, Broken Claws |
Reward | Sword: Melted Ambition (17 Attack, Level 2 Attack Speed, Groundsurge, Destruction I, Gale I) |
The quest involves climbing a mountain path, using Nature's Grasp to lift a locked gate, and then fighting Myurdin in a two-phase boss battle. In Phase 1, Myurdin fights in his standard form; in Phase 2, he transforms and uses fire and lava attacks. Focus on parrying and heavy attacks with the Tauria Curved Sword during Phase 1.

The Silver Wolf Mountain area is home to Royler, a legendary white horse considered the best mount in the game for exploration. Royler has a base endurance of 375+, allowing extended galloping without stopping. The horse can be found near the Snowgrass Hearth campsite by the frozen lake, just below the "P" in "Pailune" on the map.
Snowgrass Hearth: Campsite near the frozen lake where Royler can be found
Five-Finger Mountain: Adjacent mountain range with its own caves and ruins puzzle
Second-Finger Cave: A nearby cave within Five-Finger Mountain
Silverwolf Cave is one of the most efficient Gold Ore pickup stops in Pywel. The cave sits to the left of the letter A in Baloun on the world map, and a fast-travel point is parked right at the cave mouth, so the round trip costs almost no overland travel time. A single visit yields roughly 25 to 30 Gold Ore.
The farm route, step by step:
Fast travel to the cave: Use the travel node positioned next to the A of Baloun. The node drops the player directly outside Silverwolf Cave, skipping the cold-weather overland trek through Pailune.
Drop into the pit: From the entrance, head slightly forward into the chamber and look for the large open pit in the floor. Drop straight in. The fall is survivable without dismount or glide tricks.
Force-palm the gold rock: At the bottom of the pit, a single gold-coloured boulder sits exposed. Hit it with Force Palm to shatter the deposit. Each crack drops several pieces of Gold Ore; one full boulder yields 25 to 30 Ore in total.
Handle the resident enemy: One hostile spawns in the pit chamber. It is manageable at most build levels; clearing it first is the safest approach, but ranged players can pop the rock with Force Palm before engaging.
Loop the wider gold route: Silverwolf Cave is one of three caves in the standard Gold Ore loop. Pair it with the pit below the letter D of Demeniss and with Second-Finger Cave (aligned with the L of Baloun) to bring the total round to roughly 70 to 80 Gold Ore. Each cave repopulates after a few in-game days.
Convert at the witch: Combined with Golden Apple pickups from the Greyrock Dock hedgehog area, the loop produces enough Gold Bar stock in 20 to 25 minutes to support a full Aeserion forging session. See Silver and Gold Farming and All Gold Bar Locations for the wider income economy.
Tip: Visit during the same in-game session as the Greyrock Dock Baby Hedgehog route. Hedgehogs only drop Golden Apples between 4 PM and 9 PM in-game, so timing the Gold Ore loop around that window keeps every component fresh for a single witch crafting session.
Watch for bat swarms inside the cave; they may be hostile and attack without warning.
The gold deposits along the cliffs and inside the cave provide gathering opportunities. Bring a pickaxe.
While in the Silver Wolf Mountain area, look for the legendary mount Royler near Snowgrass Hearth by the frozen lake.
The Five-Finger Mountain Valley nearby contains a ruins puzzle involving statue rotation that rewards an Abyss Cresset.
Prepare for the cold Pailune climate before making the trip. Stock up on warming consumables or equip cold-resistant gear.
