Second-Finger Cave is a secret cave located within Five-Finger Mountain in the Pailune region. Veins of shimmering gold are hidden within its deep shadows, drawing many to search for the cave. However, as if concealed from prying eyes, finding its entrance is said to be close to impossible.
The cave is one of the forest cave locations in Crimson Desert, classified alongside other natural caverns found in mountainous terrain. Five-Finger Mountain houses this hidden gold deposit, making Second-Finger Cave a prized discovery for explorers who manage to locate the well-concealed entrance.
The cave entrance is notoriously difficult to locate. Search the cliffs and rock faces of Five-Finger Mountain carefully, as the entrance blends into the natural terrain. The gold veins visible deep inside the cave confirm you have found the right location.
The hidden entrance makes this cave a true exploration challenge; explore Five-Finger Mountain methodically.
The gold veins inside may yield valuable gathering resources.
Nearby Silverwolf Cave is another cave worth exploring in the Pailune region.
Second-Finger Cave is one of the nine Gold Mines revealed by the Gold Vein Map awarded for defeating Marni's Excavatron at Karin Quarry. A single clean run yields roughly 15 to 20 Gold Ore, on par with the other regional gold caves.
Each gold deposit takes two to four strikes before it crumbles, so do not stop after the first hit. The Mining Knuckledrill is the recommended tool because it adds a 10 percent bonus ore chance and auto-picks up most chunks the instant a node breaks. Bernor's Pickaxe is the next-best option for players still working toward the Knuckledrill, with a 20 percent bonus-ore chance at base that scales with refinement.
Prioritize the full gold-coloured nodes that cluster in the corners of each chamber. The half-stone, half-gold nodes drop fewer ore per strike and are only worth hitting after the dense pockets are stripped. Sweep each chamber a second time after the auto-pickup pass to grab any chunks that landed outside the Knuckledrill's collection radius.
The cave entrance sits partway up one of the distinctive finger-shaped rock formations on Five-Finger Mountain in Pailune. Once Pailune is liberated and its Abyss Nexus is unlocked, fast-travelling there and riding west onto the mountain is the fastest approach. Pailune sits in the colder northern stretch of Pywel, so bring recovery items if your loadout is not built for the climate.
A large golden boulder blocks the cave mouth, the same visual cue used at Anvil Hill Cave and the other gold mines. Break it with Force Palm to expose the entrance. The deposits inside respawn on the standard ore cooldown, so this cave can be revisited on the same weekly mining day used for Anvil Hill Cave or the rest of the route.
Gold Ore farmed here feeds directly into the most efficient Gold Bar recipes. After learning the Alchemy Formula: Gold Bar from the Spire of Insight or the alternative Pailune Witch's Hideout, three Gold Ore plus one Golden Apple can be crafted at any Witch into one Gold Bar, which exchanges for 500 Silver at any bank. A full Second-Finger Cave run paired with a Golden Apple loop covers several Gold Bars per round trip.
Tool priority: Mining Knuckledrill > Bernor's Pickaxe > standard pickaxe.
Yield per visit: approximately 15 to 20 Gold Ore from a clean cave clear.
Respawn: standard ore cycle. Combine with the rest of the gold-mine circuit on a single mining day.
Pair with: Anvil Hill Cave for early-game runs and the Crimson Desert mines once Varnia is unlocked.
