Overview
Sanctum of Exaltation is a faction cleansing quest in Crimson Desert, part of the Witch of Kindness questline given by Bari. It is one of several corrupted sacred sites in the snowy Pailune region that have been overrun by the Antumbra Order. To purify the sanctum, Kliff must wipe out the Antumbra presence, recover two Fusion Reactor Cores hidden around the ruins, and slot them into the sanctum's generator to restore its sacred light.
Completing this sanctum advances Bari's favor and contributes to the broader Witch of Kindness reward chain, which grants abyss gear blueprints.

Location
The Sanctum of Exaltation sits in the northern snowfields of Pailune, just east of Silver Wolf Mountain and northeast of Crimson Lake. Bari's hidden cabin floats at the center of Crimson Lake, so the sanctum is a short ride away from her home once you have unlocked her services. Approach the ruins from the north along the mountain ridge for the safest entry; the southern slopes are thick with Antumbra patrols that will pull large groups if you aggro them together.
How to Start
Travel to Pailune and locate Bari, the Witch of Kindness. She first appears disguised as an old woman under a ragged tent southeast of Wayward Woods. Light the lantern at her feet to warm her up.
Continue north to Crimson Lake and enter Bari's cabin in the middle of the lake.
Listen to her request. She asks Kliff to cleanse the corrupted sanctums scattered across Pailune, including the Sanctum of Exaltation.
Once the quest is accepted, the sanctum is marked on the map east of Silver Wolf Mountain.
Walkthrough
Step 1: Liberate the Sanctum
Approach the ruins from the north and begin carving through the Antumbra Order patrols stationed on the stairs and terraces. Enemies are clustered in groups of six to ten, and you must defeat roughly forty combatants to liberate the site. A green progress bar on the left side of the screen tracks how many zealots remain. Flying Antumbra units hit hard but can be ignored if you want to push through faster.
Step 2: Recover Fusion Reactor Core XVI
After the area is clear, you will spawn near a gated chamber beneath the main stairs. Look down into the archway between the staircases to spot a floating Fusion Reactor Core. Use Axiom Force to grab it through the grate, then select Seal to stow it inside your Kuku Pot. A small treasure chest sits behind the core location.
Step 3: Drain the Water
From the gated room, turn right and look for a patch of frozen, crystallized water built into an otherwise normal section of wall. Standard attacks will not budge it. Perform a heavy and light attack combo at the same time (R1 + R2 slam) to crack the ice, and the water filling the adjacent pit will drain out. Axiom Force cannot pull objects through liquid, which is why this step is mandatory before you can collect the second core.
Step 4: Recover Fusion Reactor Core LIV-II
With the pit drained, drop in or climb to the opening above the newly emptied chamber and use Axiom Force to grab the second Fusion Reactor Core from the floor. Seal it in the Kuku Pot alongside the first.
Step 5: Place the Cores in the Generator
Head to the sanctum's central generator. Discard both Fusion Reactor Cores from the Kuku Pot, then use Axiom Force to float each one into its matching socket. Once aligned, use Force Palm or Aerial Force Palm to slam them firmly into place. When both cores lock in, the generator reignites and the corruption around the sanctum burns away.
Step 6: Complete the Cleansing
Step into the square of holy light that appears in the center of the sanctum. Kliff will commune with Bari, who confirms the Sanctum of Exaltation has been cleansed and thanks him for restoring it.
Antumbra Enemies
The Sanctum of Exaltation is defended by standard Antumbra Order zealots, including melee footsoldiers, ranged casters, and winged flyer units that swoop in from the upper terraces. Unlike some other sanctums, Exaltation has no named boss encounter. The challenge is the sheer number of trash mobs you have to clear plus the Fusion Core puzzle itself.
Rewards
Reward | Details |
|---|---|
Treasure Chest | One standard sanctum reward chest inside the ruins |
Blueprint II: High-Mobility A.T.A.G | Abyss gear blueprint crafted at the Enhanced Kuku Pot |
Blueprint II: Kuku Flame Spear | Weapon blueprint crafted at the Enhanced Kuku Pot |
Witch of Kindness Progress | Advances Bari's favor toward unlocking further rewards in the Witch of Kindness chain |
Tips
Pull Antumbra groups one cluster at a time from the northern approach. Fighting on the stairs lets you funnel flyers into melee range.
Keep a ranged weapon ready. Winged Antumbra units are annoying to chase on foot and disrupt combos against ground zealots.
Save Focus for Axiom Force during the core recovery steps. Running out mid-pull drops the core back into place.
The ice wall will not break with light attacks or basic kicks. You must use a combined heavy and light slam (R1 + R2) to shatter it.
Rotate the Fusion Reactor Cores in mid-air while holding them. When the core is in the correct orientation, small green motes drift off of it, signaling that Force Palm will lock it into the socket.
Open the small side chest behind the first core. It is easy to miss because it sits directly in front of the fusion core itself.
Cleanse Bari's sanctums before returning to trade rewards so you can collect several blueprints in one trip.
