The most reliable spot to farm Long Horn is the waypoint at the northern edge of the Pailune region, near the top of the world map. Every fast-travel arrival at this waypoint spawns a small herd of moose and reindeer in the immediate area, both of which drop Long Horn on skin. Moose and reindeer are docile until shot, so a ranged opener with Focus Shot cleanly one-shots each animal without the herd running off, and you can also stealth up in a cloak and finish them with a single melee hit if you prefer a quieter approach.
One skin usually returns multiple Long Horn, and the yield climbs further if you are carrying a skinning knife with an extra-hide passive. Because each Refined Palmer Pill only consumes one Long Horn, two or three moose at this waypoint typically cover a full craft cycle. Fast travel away and back to reset the herd for another pass.
