Overview
Fire arrows in Crimson Desert are not a separate craftable item. Instead, you light regular arrows on fire by dipping them into a flame source before shooting. This guide explains how to do it, where to find fire sources, and how to craft the base arrows you need.
How to Light an Arrow on Fire
Equip your bow and enter aim mode by pressing L2 (PlayStation), LT (Xbox), or Right Click (PC).
Draw an arrow by holding the fire button (R2/RT/Left Click).
Stand near a fire source such as a torch, brazier, campfire, or bonfire. Position yourself close enough that the arrowhead is in contact with the flames.
Wait for ignition. After a couple of seconds, you will see a small flame appear on the arrow tip. The arrow is now a fire arrow.
Aim and release. Step away from the fire source, aim at your target, and release to fire the burning arrow.
Fire arrows stay lit for a limited time once ignited. If you hold the draw too long without releasing, the flame will eventually burn out and you will need to re-ignite at a fire source.
What Fire Arrows Are Used For
Burning vine barriers. Many areas in Pywel are blocked by thick vines that can only be destroyed with fire. Shoot a fire arrow at the vines to clear the path. A notable early example is the entrance to Lioncrest Watchtower.
Environmental puzzles. Some puzzles require you to light distant torches or braziers with fire arrows to open doors or reveal secrets.
Setting enemies on fire. Fire arrows deal fire damage and can briefly set enemies ablaze, dealing damage over time.
How to Craft Regular Arrows
Before you can make fire arrows, you need a supply of regular arrows. Visit any Blacksmith (such as Turnali in Hernand City) and craft arrows with:
Material | Quantity | Result |
|---|---|---|
Timber | 5 | 30 Arrows |
Iron Ore | 4 | (same batch) |
This gives you 30 arrows per batch. Timber comes from chopping trees with a Logging Axe, and Iron Ore from mining deposits with a Pickaxe.
Alternative: Elemental Empowerment
If you do not want to rely on nearby fire sources, you can unlock the Elemental Empowerment skill from the red (Body) skill tree. At level 2, this skill lets you imbue powerful shots with elemental energy, including fire, without needing a physical flame. This is especially useful in areas where fire sources are scarce.
Alternative: Blinding Flash
Blinding Flash can also burn vine barriers, making it a viable alternative if you do not have arrows available. Activate it by pressing the Lantern button and Light Attack simultaneously.
Tips
Always craft a healthy supply of arrows before heading into new territory. Vine barriers appear frequently, and running out of arrows at the wrong moment is frustrating.
Torches and braziers are extremely common near vine-blocked passages. If you see vines, look around for a nearby flame.
Fire arrows also work for lighting campfires and cooking pots from a distance.
