The Hondo Two-Handed Sword is a powerful two-handed sword in Crimson Desert hidden inside Lion Crest Manor on the western side of the City of Hernand. The sword is locked inside a chest behind an inner door that requires a key purchased from a separate back-alley vendor in the starting region, making it one of the earliest two-handers in the game that demands a small amount of cross-region preparation before it can be claimed.
On pickup, the Hondo carries three Abyss Core slots pre-loaded with Critical Rate I, Stamina Siphon I, and Attack I, giving it a strong combat profile from the moment it is equipped. It is widely treated as a carry weapon for the early-to-mid game; players who only grab one hidden two-hander before the first major story milestone tend to pick this one.
Because it sits inside a manor patrolled by hostile guards and requires a key not sold by any of the standard town vendors, the Hondo is one of the more deliberate hidden weapon pickups in the early game. Players who walk in through the front door of Lion Crest Manor never see it. The intended path bypasses the front entrance entirely.

Specific base-attack and refinement-curve figures are not stated in the source material this article was built from, so they are omitted here rather than guessed. The three pre-loaded Abyss Cores and the slot configuration are the load-bearing reason most players prioritize this pickup over comparable two-handers found in the same region.
Acquiring the Hondo Two-Handed Sword is a three-step pickup that begins in the starting region and ends inside Lion Crest Manor.
Before traveling north to the manor, stop by the windmill near Mock Root Ranch in the starting region. Underneath the windmill is the Back-Alley Vendor at Mock Root Windmill, who sells the locked-door key required for the inner door inside the manor outhouse. Buy any keys the vendor has in stock at the same time; several open chests and doors elsewhere on the map, and returning later is a longer round trip than the silver cost.
Travel north to Lion Crest Manor. The estate is heavily patrolled by guards and entering through the front entrance triggers a combat encounter that is unnecessary for this pickup. Instead, circle around the outside of the property and look for a small outhouse along the side or rear of the building.
The outhouse has a wooden window near the top. Climb up the wall toward it, wait for the on-screen E prompt, and hop through. Inside, you land in a small interior space with an inner door that the purchased key unlocks.
After unlocking and opening the inner door, you will see a Glenmore Sword lying on the floor. That is not the prize. Walk past it to the chest in the room and loot the Hondo Two-Handed Sword. The chest contains the sword with its three Abyss Cores already installed.
The Hondo functions as a high-output two-handed sword whose pre-installed cores cover three of the most important early-game stat lines at once:
Critical Rate I boosts the chance of a critical hit on every attack, which scales especially well with the wider swing arcs of two-handed weapons.
Stamina Siphon I returns stamina on hits, letting the wielder sustain longer combo strings without running dry during sustained boss damage windows.
Attack I adds a flat damage modifier that compounds with the other two cores on every successful hit.
Because the Hondo occupies both weapon slots, it cannot be paired with a one-handed off-hand the way the Legionary's Gladius, Hollow Visage, or Survivor's Solitude can. Many players carry it as the boss-window pick on their weapon wheel and swap to a one-handed dual-wield pair for trash clear.
Visit the back-alley vendor first. The trip is wasted if you arrive at the manor without the key in inventory.
Approach the outhouse from the outside walls of the property. The front gate is not part of the intended path.
Save before climbing in. If the climb angle fails the first time, the E prompt does not always pop on a second approach until you reposition.
Do not engage the manor guards if the goal is only the Hondo. Stealth or sprinting back out through the outhouse window is faster than fighting through the building.
