Overview
Hidden Fangs reveals the secret behind the Black Bears' military superiority: mobile battle tanks, round wooden vehicles that fire cannons. These war machines were responsible for the shelling that leveled their own camp in the previous quest. Kliff must locate and destroy all five tanks scattered across the battlefield in the Calphade region.
Walkthrough
Destroy the Black Bears' Battle Weapons (x5)
Five mobile battle tanks are spread across the red search area on your map. They appear as round wooden vehicles that shoot cannons when you get close. The fastest way to destroy them:
Hold the directional pad left and select Whistling Arrow using R2 / RT.
Aim at the tank and release L2 / LT to fire.
The arrow calls an air bombardment that destroys the tank in one hit.
Tank Locations
The tanks are distributed across the open fields in the southern portion of the search area, with one positioned closer to the center. Because the tanks drive around the fields, their exact positions shift slightly. Ride your horse around the search area and look for the distinctive round wooden shapes.
Arrow Resupply
If you run low on Whistling Arrows, visit the friendly camp in the southwest section of the search area to restock.
Fastest Strategy
The easiest method is to ride around on your horse, shoot a Whistling Arrow at each tank from a distance, and immediately ride to the next one. You can skip past most ground enemies entirely. The tanks are your only objective; the soldiers are optional fights.
Bonus: Farming Spot
This area is one of the best locations for farming Abyss Artifacts and skill points. Enemies respawn when you die or rest, so if you want to grind before progressing, this is a good place to do it.
Tips
Do not try to melee the tanks. They fire cannons at close range. Whistling Arrows from a distance are the intended approach.
A cutscene triggers automatically after destroying all five tanks. Make sure you have done any farming or exploration in the area before destroying the last one.
The tanks move, so check the minimap for their positions rather than relying on fixed landmarks.
