Overview

Antumbra Warpriest is an Enemy in Crimson Desert. These dark clerics belong to the Antumbra Order, a religious cult that profanes light and life. Its followers worship darkness through human sacrifice, believing that Pywel is rife with discrimination and imbalance, and that only darkness can bring true equality and freedom. With sanctuaries scattered across Pywel, their influence runs deep into every region of the continent.
Warpriests serve as the spiritual backbone of the Antumbra Order. Unlike common cultists, they hold authority over sanctum rituals and guard the entrances to the order's most sacred sites, including the Antumbra Ritual Grounds. They are often encountered standing vigil at the front doors of sanctum complexes, though players who wish to conserve resources can sometimes sprint past them and head directly through the open iron gate into the cavern beyond.

Location and Encounters
Antumbra Warpriests are found primarily at Antumbra Order sanctum sites across Pywel. The order controls several sanctums in Hernand that must be cleansed as part of the Witch of Wisdom quest chain. These sanctums include the Sanctum of Temperance, Sanctum of Penitence, Sanctum of Benediction, and Sanctum of Absolution. Additional sanctums can be found in Demeniss and Pailune.
The Antumbra Order's sanctum grounds are often crawling with cultists, warpriests, and other followers. However, clearing them is not always required to complete sanctum puzzles. In many cases, the courtyard enemies can be ignored entirely, as defeating them does nothing to liberate the sanctum itself.
Combat Tips
Warpriests are tougher than standard Antumbra Zealot enemies due to their higher health pool of 160. They can withstand more hits before going down.
When approaching sanctum entrances guarded by Warpriests, you can often sprint directly past them and through the open gate without engaging in combat. This is especially useful if you want to save healing items for the sanctum boss.
If you do choose to fight, focus on isolating individual Warpriests from the larger group of Antumbra cultists to avoid being overwhelmed.
Warpriests tend to use melee axe attacks. Keep your distance and use ranged attacks or charged Forward Slash to break through their guard.
Faction Lore
The Antumbra Order is led by Antumbra's Sword, who serves as the faction's supreme judge, condemning those who defy the order's religious tenets. Below the leader, the order maintains a military hierarchy that includes figures known as Antumbra's Spear and Antumbra's Staff, each guarding different sanctums across the continent. The Antumbra Order's zealots have even forged weapons imbued with their malice, such as the Bismuth Cannon, whose description warns that the malice of the Antumbra zealots who forged it has seeped into the weapon itself.
