StarNote is the in-game achievement and leveling system in Starsand Island. It is a phone app accessible from the in-game phone menu (press Tab). You earn experience by completing themed objectives, and as you accumulate enough XP, you level up and can claim rewards. The system goes up to Level 45 in Early Access.
StarNote is one of the primary ways to earn Starsand the premium currency used for land expansion, profession skill upgrades in the Workpedia, and Island Life milestones.
Open the StarNote app on your phone.
Browse available tasks organized by category.
Complete tasks during normal gameplay, many tasks are retroactive (e.g., if you already opened Gachapons before the task appeared, they still count).
When enough XP accumulates, return to the StarNote app to manually claim your level-up and rewards.
StarNote tasks are organized into five themed categories:
Homestead/Construction: Building, repairing, and home improvement objectives.
Profession-based: Crafting, farming, fishing, ranching, and exploration tasks.
NPC Relationships/Social: Befriending characters and reaching Affection milestones.
Miscellaneous/Daily Life: Various tasks like opening Gachapons, taking photos, sleeping, checking mail.
Exploration: Discovering new areas, finding treasure chests, and other discovery-based objectives.
Timber Tycoon: Craft one Axe.
Echoes of Summer: Craft one Bug Net.
Hooked on Fate: Craft one Fishing Rod.
Cha-ching: Open 5 Treasure Chests.
Open 5/10/20 Gachapons (retroactive, previous opens count).
Feed and befriend animals.
Take pictures at specific landmarks.
Each level grants a combination of Starsand currency and cosmetic items (clothing, hairstyles, furniture blueprints). The total Starsand earned across all 45 levels is approximately 1,775.

The Starsand currency earned from StarNote levels is spent on:
Workpedia: Profession skill upgrades across 5 tiers for each of the 5 professions.
Land expansion: Buy additional buildable land around Hopeland.
Island Life milestones: Some objectives require Starsand spending.
Other ways to earn Starsand include: the Island Life app (50–1,500 per quest), Bulletin Board daily requests, profession leveling (100 points every 3 levels), and photo album completion.
Starsand Island also has 75 Steam achievements that are separate from the in-game StarNote system. These are platform-level trophies organized into themed groups:

Check the StarNote app regularly, rewards must be manually claimed.
Many tasks are retroactive, so do not worry about the order you complete things.
Levels 3, 9, 27, and 45 reward the exclusive Black Cat furniture set, a popular home decor theme.
Starsand earned from StarNote is your most reliable source of the currency early in the game. Save it for land expansion unless you urgently need profession upgrades.
The StarNote levels up naturally as you play. Focus on enjoying the game rather than grinding specific tasks.
