Overview
The bio burner is the starting energy source for the camper van. Mounted in the back of the vehicle, it burns biodegradable resources to fuel the electric motor. When players first begin the game, the bio burner is their only way to keep the van moving.
How it works
The bio burner consumes biodegradable materials collected from the environment. Two fuel types have been confirmed: fibre (restores 10% battery capacity per unit) and lumber (standard lumber restores 10%, while light lumber restores 20%). Small logs can be picked up by hand, while larger logs require an axe. Players need to keep feeding the burner fuel to maintain battery power. If the battery drains completely, the van stops moving until power is restored. This creates a gameplay loop of gathering fuel, traveling, and gathering more, especially in the early game before renewable alternatives become available.
Upgrading beyond the bio burner
As players progress through the technology tree and unlock blueprints from signal towers, they can expand and eventually replace the bio burner with solar, wind, and water energy systems. Moving from burning resources to generating clean, renewable energy represents the game's core sustainability theme: building a fully self-sufficient power solution for the vehicle.
