Nanny and Childcare
Complete guide to babysitting and childcare services in inZOI covering how to hire a nanny through the Pocket Market, pricing tiers (2-Hour and 24-Hour), what babysitters do, the automatic babysitter system for newborns, Child Protection Agency mechanics, other home services, known issues, and tips.
Childcare in inZOI is primarily handled through babysitting services available via the Pocket Market's Home Services tab. These services are essential for households with young children, particularly when parents need to leave the home for work or other activities. The babysitting system helps prevent Child Protection Agency intervention and ensures that toddlers' basic needs are met.
How to Hire a Babysitter
Hiring a babysitter is done entirely through the smartphone:
Open the phone by pressing P.
Select the Pocket Market app.
Navigate to the Home Services tab.
Choose the Babysitter option.
Select the tier: Two-Hour Babysitting (100M) or 24-Hour Babysitting (500M).
Confirm the purchase.
The babysitter arrives at the home within approximately 1 in-game hour.
Greet the visitor at the door to let them inside.
The last step is important. The babysitter will wait at the front door until a household member greets them. If no one is home to greet the babysitter, they may leave without providing service.
Babysitting Tiers and Pricing
Service Tier | Cost | Duration |
|---|---|---|
Two-Hour Babysitting | 100M | 2 in-game hours |
24-Hour Babysitting | 500M | 1 full in-game day |
The 24-Hour option is more cost-effective for parents who need extended coverage, such as during a full work day. The Two-Hour option is suitable for short errands or appointments.
What Babysitters Do
Once inside the home, the babysitter takes over primary care responsibilities for toddlers in the household:
Feeding: The babysitter prepares and gives formula to hungry toddlers.
Diaper Changes: Handles diaper changes when the toddler's Hygiene need drops.
Supervision: Monitors the toddler and responds to declining needs.
Preventing CPA Removal: The babysitter's presence prevents the Child Protection Agency from removing the child due to unmet needs.
Babysitters do not interact with children (the next life stage after toddler). Their services are specifically designed for the toddler age group, which requires the most hands-on care.
Child Protection Agency
If a toddler's needs remain unmet for too long and no caretaker (parent or babysitter) is available, the Child Protection Agency (CPA) will intervene and remove the child from the household. This is a permanent removal. The toddler is taken from the family and cannot be recovered through normal gameplay.
To prevent CPA intervention:
Ensure at least one adult is always home when a toddler is in the household.
Hire a babysitter through the Pocket Market before leaving the home.
Monitor the toddler's Hunger and Hygiene needs closely, as these deteriorate the fastest.
Automatic Babysitter for Newborns
For the Newborn life stage (which lasts only 1 in-game day), the game provides an automatic babysitter whenever all household members leave the lot. This babysitter appears automatically without needing to be hired through the Pocket Market. The automatic babysitter system ensures that Newborns are never left completely unattended, even if the player forgets to arrange care before leaving.
This automatic system only applies to Newborns. Toddlers do not receive an automatic babysitter and require manual arrangement through the Pocket Market.
Service Limitations
Babysitting services are only available in households that have toddlers. The option does not appear in the Pocket Market if there are no toddlers in the home.
There are no daycare facilities or childcare centers in the game world. All childcare is handled through the Pocket Market home service system.
Only one babysitter can be active at a time per household.
The babysitter will not perform household chores, cook meals for adults, or clean the home. Their duties are limited to toddler care.
Other Home Services
The Pocket Market's Home Services tab also offers these non-childcare services:
Service | Cost | Description |
|---|---|---|
Gold Handed Repair Service | 100M | A professional repairs all broken objects on the lot. |
Spick-And-Span Cleaning | 100M | Basic cleaning of the property. |
Good-As-New Cleaning | 500M | Thorough deep cleaning of the entire property. |
Ghost Exorcism | 3,000M | Removes ghosts haunting the property. |
Known Issues
As of v0.6.0, players have reported the following issues with the babysitting system:
Babysitter Not Showing Up: In some cases, the babysitter fails to arrive after being hired. This appears to be a rare bug. Workaround: cancel and re-order the service.
Babysitter Not Leaving: After the service period ends, the babysitter occasionally remains in the home and does not leave. Workaround: use the "Ask to Leave" social interaction or travel to a different lot and return.
Tips
Always hire a babysitter before leaving for work if you have a toddler at home. The Two-Hour service at 100M is affordable and covers most short absences.
For full work days, the 24-Hour service at 500M is the better value. It costs only 5 times as much as the 2-Hour service but covers 12 times the duration.
If both parents work, consider staggering their schedules so one parent is always home. This eliminates the need for paid babysitting entirely.
Remember to greet the babysitter at the door. If you leave before the babysitter arrives and no one is home to let them in, the service may fail.
The automatic babysitter for Newborns only covers the Newborn stage (1 in-game day). Plan ahead for the transition to Toddler, when you will need to arrange babysitting manually.
Monitor your toddler's needs even when a babysitter is present. The babysitter handles basic care, but they may not respond as quickly as a parent would.
