Overview

Movie Theaters are entertainment venues introduced in the March 2026 Update (v0.7.0) that allow Zois to watch films as a leisure activity. Cinemas function both as public venues that any Zoi can visit and as a business type that players can own and operate. Watching a movie is a reliable way to fulfill the Fun and Social needs simultaneously, making it one of the more efficient recreational options in the game.

The addition of movie theaters was part of a broader expansion to nightlife and entertainment in v0.7.0, which also introduced flower shops, massage and yoga businesses, and several other new commercial venues across all three cities.

Visiting a Movie Theater

Any Zoi can visit a movie theater during its operating hours. Cinemas are located in the commercial districts of Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya. To go to the movies, simply travel to a cinema location and interact with the building entrance.

Zois can attend the movies in several social configurations:

• Solo outing: Your Zoi watches a film alone. This still fulfills the Fun need, though the Social benefit is minimal.

• With friends: Invite one or more friends from your Zoi's contact list to join. Group movie outings provide a strong Social need boost and can improve friendship levels.

• Romantic date: Take a romantic interest or partner to the cinema. Movie dates are one of the better date activities for building romantic relationships, and the shared experience adds to the couple's relationship score.

The combined Fun and Social gain makes movie theaters competitive with other entertainment venues like karaoke and bars. For Zois who prefer lower-energy activities over physical ones like sports or fitness, the cinema is an excellent choice.

Movie Theater as a Business

Players can purchase and operate a movie theater as one of the business types available in the game. Running a cinema follows the same general business management framework used by other commercial properties such as cafes, restaurants, and bars.

As a cinema owner, your responsibilities include maintaining the venue, keeping customers satisfied, and managing staff. Movie theater businesses generate revenue from ticket sales whenever NPC Zois visit the cinema. Like other businesses, the profitability of a movie theater depends on its location, condition, and how well it is managed.

Date and Social Outing Tips

• Movie theaters make excellent date locations. If your Zoi is pursuing a romantic relationship, suggest a movie outing through the phone or by interacting with the partner directly.

• Group outings with friends are a time-efficient way to boost Social need for multiple Zois at once.

• Pair a movie with dinner at a nearby restaurant for a complete evening out that covers Fun, Social, and Hunger needs.

• Zois with the Entertainment preference may autonomously choose to visit the cinema when their Fun need drops.

• The cinema is part of the broader nightlife scene. Consider visiting during evening hours for the full experience.
