The June 2025 Update (version 0.2.0) launched on June 12, 2025, and stands as one of the largest Early Access patches inZOI has received. It introduced the first official modding tools through the ModKit, expanded family creation with adoption and medical birth options, opened up teen romance, added 175 new furniture items and 29 new character customization pieces, and launched the game's first cheat system. Many of the features in this patch were direct responses to community feedback from the first months of Early Access.
The update was originally scheduled for late May but was delayed by roughly two weeks to give the development team additional time for polish and testing. Two hotfix patches followed on June 16, addressing crashes, Intel CPU issues, and several gameplay bugs discovered in the initial release.
Version 0.2.0 marked the debut of the ModKit, giving players their first set of official modding tools. The ModKit shipped with plugins for both Maya and Blender, making it accessible to hobbyists and professionals alike. At launch, the toolkit supported two categories of custom content: custom outfits and custom furniture. Artists create assets in their preferred DCC (Digital Content Creation) application, export them through the inZOI plugin, and package them for distribution.

A wizard-style UI was included to streamline the mod creation process. Rather than requiring complex manual configuration, the wizard walks creators through each step of preparing and exporting their assets. Sample resources and FBX files were bundled with the toolkit so new modders could study working examples before building their own content.
On the player side, the update added a Mod Browser accessible from within the game. The browser supports searching, installing, and deleting mods without leaving the application. Mods can be distributed through CurseForge, which integrates directly with the in-game browser for one-click installation, or shared as manual downloads for sideloading.
Krafton indicated that the ModKit would expand in future updates to cover additional content types, but the initial release focused on outfits and furniture as the two most-requested categories from the community.
The adoption system allows any household to adopt children through a computer or laptop interaction. To start the process, select the "Adopt a Child" option from the household management menu on any in-game computer. The system does not restrict adoption based on household composition, meaning single Zois, couples, and larger households can all adopt as long as they meet the age and property requirements. Adopted children integrate fully into the household: they inherit the family name, build relationships with all household members, and have access to the same interactions as biological children.
Medical birth provides an alternative way to have a baby. The "Create a Child with Medical Help" interaction is initiated through a computer or laptop and costs 1,000 Meow. Unlike natural pregnancy, medical birth works for all gender combinations, including same-sex couples and single Zois. When a single Zoi uses the feature, the child inherits that Zoi's genetic traits. When two Zois partner up for the procedure, the child reflects both parents' genetics. Once initiated, the pregnancy follows the normal timeline and life stages progression.
To support more diverse family structures, Zois can now give birth without being married. Before this update, pregnancy required a formal marriage between partners. Removing that restriction means unmarried couples and single parents have more options for starting families naturally.
With v0.2.0, teenagers gained the ability to pursue romantic relationships with other teens. Before this update, romance interactions were locked to young adults and older. Teens can now flirt, confess feelings, go on dates, and enter into relationships. The romance system for teenagers mirrors the adult version but is age-appropriate. Choice card events like secret admirers add variety to the teen social experience.
Sending the First Text: Zois can now initiate text conversations through the Contacts app on their smartphone. Recipients respond differently based on their personality and relationship level.
Gift Exchanges: Zois can give gifts to others. How a gift is received depends on the recipient's personality and preferences.
Unannounced Visits: Other Zois from around the city may show up at your household without prior notice.
Gender Identity and Attraction Settings: Players can now set and adjust gender identity and romantic attraction preferences for any Zoi at any time.
Relationship Carryover Post-Marriage: Relationship progress now carries over properly after marriage, fixing an issue where romance levels would reset to zero after the wedding.
Version 0.2.0 introduced a dynamic body weight and muscle system. A Zoi's physical build now changes over time based on their daily behavior. Regular exercise and workouts cause a Zoi to build visible muscle mass, while overeating or consuming high-calorie meals leads to gradual weight gain. The changes happen slowly rather than instantly, and the body model updates visually to reflect the current state.
As a Zoi's Fitness skill level increases, they become more resistant to aches and fatigue, allowing them to endure longer or more intense physical activity with ease. The weight system ties into traits and mentality mechanics, since certain personality traits influence eating and exercise preferences.
The update added 29 new individual items to Create a Zoi, broken down as follows:
Category | Count |
|---|---|
Hairstyles | 5 |
Tops | 4 |
Bottoms | 3 |
Outerwear | 1 |
Complete Sets | 3 |
Shoes | 3 |
Socks and Stockings | 9 |
Accessories | 1 |
Total | 29 |
On top of the individual items, over 20 new outfits were added, including entirely new outfit types such as overalls and boots. Accessories can now be freely repositioned and resized, allowing players to adjust the placement of glasses, earrings, headpieces, and other items with much greater precision than before.
Additional quality-of-life improvements include the ability to randomize traits and desired life selections when creating a new Zoi, and creator attribution now appears on downloaded presets and Canvas textures so the original artist gets credit.
The update added 175 new objects to Build Mode, distributed across the following categories:
Room Category | Items Added |
|---|---|
Kitchen | 52 |
Common and General | 76 |
Doors | 20 |
Bedroom | 14 |
Living Room | 5 |
Home Office | 4 |
Bathroom | 2 |
Outdoor | 2 |
Total | 175 |
Notable additions included new kitchen counter styles, single beds, baby furniture, modular shelving, barred windows, flashlights, outdoor planters, and a broader range of lighting options for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Shadow-casting lighting tools were added, giving builders more control over atmosphere and mood.
Several building quality-of-life features arrived alongside the new items. New keyboard shortcuts were added: K for the delete tool, Ctrl+R for edit color/material, B for inventory, and H for the move house tool. An auto-save system was introduced to protect progress during unexpected shutdowns. The roof editing gizmo received improved positioning, ceiling light placement was enabled, camera behavior was upgraded with smoother transitions between free camera and shoulder view, and the Wall View filter was enhanced to better show or hide objects.
Version 0.2.0 introduced the game's first official cheat system, accessible through the Psycat Guide. The Psycat Guide provides a quick-access button that adds 100,000 Meow to the household funds with a single press, and it can be used as many times as needed. An emergency rescue button is also included, allowing players to unstick Zois or NPCs who get trapped in geometry or stuck in broken interactions.
Beyond the Psycat Guide, a full cheat console can be opened with Ctrl+Shift+C. Console commands control emotions, relationships, currency, movement speed, and environmental settings. The cheat system provides a sandbox toolkit for players who want to experiment freely without the constraints of normal gameplay.
The Canvas platform received several updates in v0.2.0. Players can now mark up to 10 creations as private, keeping them visible only to the creator. Category-based browsing was added so users can filter creations by type more easily. Notification settings were expanded with more granular controls, and the Like/Heart button icons were refreshed.
The "Verified Creator" label was renamed to "inZOI Partner," reflecting a broader partnership program for content creators who consistently produce high-quality Canvas submissions.
Swing and Hula Hoop Interactions: Zois can now use swings and hula hoops, both of which contribute to the Fitness skill.
Time Skip: A time skip feature was added for rabbit hole interactions, letting players fast-forward through wait times instead of watching the clock tick down.
Pocket Market Expansion: Eight new gift items were added to the Pocket Market, organized into four categories: Luxury, Practical, Charming, and Silly.
New Donut Flavors: Five new donut varieties were added: Poison, Charming, Flirty, Diet, and High-Calorie. Each flavor produces a different emotional effect on the Zoi who eats it.
Weather Text Alerts: Zois now receive text message alerts on their smartphones during heat waves and extreme cold events.
Newborn Interactions: Expanded interactions for newborns include Laugh, Cry, and Change Diaper, each producing emotional buffs for the caretaking Zoi.
Starting Funds Rebalance: Default starting funds were adjusted and welfare can now be claimed once, helping new households get established more easily.
The Young Adult life stage was significantly extended, giving players more time in what is typically the most active period of a Zoi's life. Middle age was shortened to compensate, keeping the overall lifespan roughly consistent. These timing changes reflected community feedback that the young adult stage felt too brief relative to how much content it contained.
The prison system received a realism pass. Vending machines were removed from prison lots, and meal-time restrictions were introduced so inmates eat on a set schedule rather than at will. Lifers (Zois serving long sentences) are now present in the prison population, adding background variety. These changes make the prison experience feel more grounded and less like a minor inconvenience.
UI Scaling: Three UI size options were added: Small (100%), Medium (112%), and Large (125%). This helps players on high-resolution monitors or those who prefer larger interface elements.
Choice Card Profiles: Choice cards now display profile images for both the sender and receiver, making it easier to identify which Zois are involved in a social interaction.
Age and Status Tooltips: Hovering over a Zoi now shows their age group, marital status, and days remaining until the next life stage transition.
The locomotion system received a significant upgrade. Zoi movement now features smoother turning mechanics, more natural-looking idle animations, and a look-at feature that orients the Zoi's gaze in the direction of travel. Eye contact during social interactions was improved so conversations feel more lifelike.
On the audio side, terrain-specific footstep sounds were added, meaning walking on grass, pavement, sand, and indoor flooring each produce distinct audio. A background audio option was added to the settings menu. Event-specific sound prioritization was improved to prevent important audio cues from being drowned out by ambient noise. Microphone positioning was corrected for Zois performing as rappers.
The update included a broad sweep of stability and performance fixes:
GPU Crash Fix: A critical fix addressed GPU crashes affecting NVIDIA RTX 40-series and newer cards using the Ada Lovelace architecture when Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling was enabled. The game now prompts affected users with guidance.
Intel CPU Fix: A popup clicking issue on Intel 13th and 14th generation CPUs was resolved.
Outfit Weather Updates: An issue where Zois would not change outfits in response to weather changes was corrected.
Marriage Relationship Reset: A bug that reset romantic relationship progress to zero after marriage was fixed. Relationship levels now carry over properly.
Pregnancy Age Restrictions: Pregnancy restrictions based on age were properly enforced to prevent edge cases with NPCs.
Build Mode Fixes: The multi-story grid restriction was removed, stair usability on elevated platforms was restored, ghost entries from deleted 3D-printed items were eliminated, and door functionality in the Hangyeol House was repaired.
General: Load times were reduced in several areas, memory usage was optimized for longer play sessions, and dozens of interaction bugs reported during the first months of Early Access were resolved.
