Overview
The Drink Dispenser is a functional furniture appliance introduced in the v0.5.4 hotfix on January 15, 2026. It is the dedicated workbench for mixing beverages and replaces the previous workflow where drinks could be prepared at standard bar tables. As of the v0.5.4 patch, mixed drinks are made exclusively at the Drink Dispenser; bar tables no longer prepare them.
The dispenser ties into the Drink Mixing skill that was added alongside the v0.5.0 business management system. Drink quality and unlock tier scale with the Zoi's Drink Mixing skill level, which caps at level 10.
How It Works
Each mix action at the Drink Dispenser takes approximately 8 minutes of in-game time, regardless of the drink type being prepared. The dispenser is interactable by Young Adult or older Zois. Children and teenagers cannot use it, both for the cocktail tier (which is age-gated to adults) and because drink mixing is not part of the child skill tree.
The Drink Dispenser was pre-installed at several key locations during v0.5.4 to support business gameplay. Players can also purchase the Drink Dispenser as a furniture item and place it in homes or owned bar businesses through Build Mode.
Drinks Available
The dispenser produces three categories of drinks. Recipes unlock progressively as the Drink Mixing skill levels up.
Drink Type | Craft Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Single-Serving Juice | 5 Meow | Examples include Strawberry Juice, Carrot Juice, and Mango Juice. Available across skill levels. |
Juice Jug (8 servings) | 40 Meow | Larger batch format that yields 8 individual glasses. Best for serving guests at parties. |
Lower-Tier Cocktail | 9 Meow | Single-serving alcoholic mixed drink. Provides +1 Curious mood for one in-game hour. |
Upper-Tier Cocktail | 13 Meow | Higher-quality alcoholic mixed drink. Same +1 Curious mood effect for one in-game hour. |
Connection to the Bar Business
The Drink Dispenser was added in part to fix a workflow issue with the bar business preset that launched in v0.5.0. At launch, employees could mix cocktails but the drinks could not be displayed on market stands or served reliably to customers, leading to community reports of bartenders mixing drinks and immediately discarding them. The Drink Dispenser consolidates the mixing function into a dedicated object so drink preparation flows correctly.
Players running a bar business should ensure at least one Drink Dispenser is placed on the lot. Bartender employees with high Drink Mixing skill produce higher-quality drinks that contribute to the customer satisfaction system used across all businesses.
Skill Connection
The Drink Mixing skill (introduced in v0.5.0) levels by using the Drink Dispenser. Higher skill levels unlock additional recipes and improve the perceived quality of finished drinks. Quality affects the price multiplier when serving drinks at a business: low-quality drinks sell at the base price, while perfect-quality drinks sell at multiplied rates that improve revenue significantly.
Drink Mixing complements the existing Cooking and Baking skills, making it possible for a single Zoi to staff a fully-featured cafe or restaurant by handling food, baked goods, and beverages.
Version History
Version | Date | Change |
|---|---|---|
v0.5.4 | January 15, 2026 | Drink Dispenser added as a dedicated mixing appliance. Mixed drinks are now made exclusively at the Drink Dispenser; bar tables no longer prepare them. Pre-installed at several key locations. |
Tips
Place a Drink Dispenser in any home where Drink Mixing skill is being trained. The 8-minute craft time means several drinks fit into a single evening session.
Bar businesses should equip at least one Drink Dispenser. Without it, the bartender role does not function correctly with the v0.5.4+ workflow.
The Juice Jug (40 Meow craft cost, 8 servings) is more efficient per glass than 8 individual single-serving juices (5 Meow each = 40 Meow total) only if all 8 servings are used. Single-serving juices are better when drinks are made on demand.
Cocktails are restricted to Young Adult and older Zois. Households with teens should keep the dispenser accessible only to adult members or use it during adult-only gatherings.
The +1 Curious mood from cocktails lasts one hour. Plan a Drink Mixing skill session or a creative project around cocktail consumption to take advantage of the mood boost.
