Truth and Lies

Overview

Truth and Lies is a main quest in Crimson Desert and the fifth mission of Chapter 11: Truth and Reality, serving as the narrative climax of the Brave New World sub-chapter. Kliff confronts the individuals responsible for orchestrating the conflict across Pywel. The truth emerges that the wars and political upheaval plaguing the continent were not random. They were engineered by a faction within Delesyia seeking to exploit the Abyss for its own purposes.

Quest Details

Key Objectives

• Enter the inner fortress. With the defense systems disabled, walk through the main gate. The interior blends medieval architecture with Delesyian technology, featuring mechanical lifts and steam-powered doors.

• Navigate to the command center. Follow quest markers through corridors and mechanical rooms. Several doors require pulling levers or activating panels with Axiom Force.

• Confront the conspirators. A lengthy cutscene reveals the full scope of the conspiracy. The antagonists have been manipulating the political landscape of Pywel to create instability, using the chaos as cover to search for Abyss Artifacts and harness their power.

• Respond to the revelations. A dialogue-driven segment follows in which Kliff decides how to respond. The choices made here affect certain dialogue in later quests but do not alter the main story progression.

Notes

• This is one of the most story-heavy quests in the entire game. There is no combat.

• The revelations recontextualize many events from earlier chapters, particularly Chapters 3, 5, and 8.

• Players who have been following the political subplot carefully will recognize several callbacks to earlier story beats.

• After this quest, the tone shifts dramatically as the Foreboding Shadow sub-chapter begins.
