Overview

Feather is a light and flexible material obtained from bird plumage. Because it tends to flow with the current of air, it has become a popular ornament showing flight and freedom. In Crimson Desert, Feathers serve as a crafting material in the Miscellaneous refinement category, used to upgrade light and cloth-based equipment.

Where to Find

Feathers are obtained by hunting birds. You can find birds throughout the open world, from forests to mountains. Use a bow to shoot them before they fly away. Hunting challenges like "Feather of the Earth" also involve bird hunting (carry 5 birds).

Uses

Feathers are classified under the Miscellaneous refinement category and are used at the smithy for upgrading:

• Cloaks (cape and mantle upgrades)

• Soft Armor (linen and cloth body pieces)

• Jewelry (rings, necklaces, and earrings)

Recorded sellers include Alden, Peregrine, Maidon, Ronnard, Richart, Kiki, Caden, Hadiza, Berto, Rocco, Norden, Fenton, Colby, Tobit, Wilmer, Olive and Wynstan, as well as the Redrock Farm Owner and several Street Vendor entries. The older Provisioner's Shop in Hernand town, Chapter 4 of the main story and midnight-refresh claims are not verified by the listing. Check the current merchant stock rather than relying on that exact unlock and timer.

Best Farming Locations

Birds can be found all over the open world, from forests to mountains to the desert regions. The most productive areas for bird hunting include:

• Hernand Woodlands: Dense tree cover hosts numerous bird species. The forested areas around Hernand Castle are particularly good.

• Pailune Highlands: Mountain birds are common along ridgelines and cliff faces.

• Open Fields: Grasslands between settlements often have flocks of birds grazing on the ground, making them easier to target before they take flight.

Use a bow to shoot birds before they fly away. Melee attacks rarely connect because birds take flight as you approach. A well-timed arrow can drop a bird from considerable distance.

Refinement Details

At the blacksmith, Feathers serve as a refinement material for levels 1 through 4 of the following equipment types. From level 5 onward, Abyss Artifacts are required in addition to standard materials.

Tips

• Hunt birds with a bow for the best results. Melee attacks rarely connect before they take flight.

• Keep Feathers in your inventory rather than selling them. They are needed for cloak and soft armor upgrades, which are important for characters favoring light equipment builds.

• Birds are plentiful in forested areas around Hernand, so gather Feathers while traveling between quests.

Recorded quest reward

A Rumor in Ivynook, the first mission in Reuniting with Comrades, records four Feathers as a reward after looking into the rumor and finding the Greymanes there. Feathers are also described as coming from avian animals. The older category-wide refinement-level rules and farming rankings above remain unverified; check the actual equipment recipe before committing materials.
