Overview
Elantrima is one of the five standard horse breeds in Crimson Desert. It is a well-rounded breed suited for general exploration, offering a balanced stat profile without leaning heavily toward any single attribute. Players who want a reliable all-purpose mount before obtaining legendary horses will find Elantrima to be a solid choice. While it lacks the specialized strengths of Brianto's speed or Priden's jump power, Elantrima performs competently in all situations.
How to Obtain
Elantrima can be obtained through the same methods as other standard horse breeds:
Tame in the Wild: Wild Elantrima horses can be found roaming across Pywel. They tend to appear in mixed terrain areas rather than concentrated in one specific biome. Jump on the horse's back and complete the taming minigame by keeping the camera behind the horse and moving in the opposite direction to where it faces until the taming bar fills.
Purchase from Stables: Stable merchants in major settlements sell Elantrima horses for silver coins. Check stables in Hernand, Demeniss, and other major towns.
Steal from NPCs: You can steal an Elantrima from NPCs while wearing a mask, though this increases your bounty.
Characteristics
Elantrima sits in the middle of the standard breed spectrum. Its stats lean slightly toward handling and stamina, making it comfortable to ride across varied terrain. While it lacks the raw speed potential of Brianto or the jump power of Priden, Elantrima handles well in most situations without any major weaknesses.
Individual stats within each breed are slightly randomized, so two Elantrima horses may have minor differences. However, the breed's general tendencies remain consistent. When taming a wild Elantrima, the specific stat roll may vary, so players looking for optimal stats can tame multiple Elantrima and compare them at a stable.
Standard Breed Comparison
The five standard breeds each have distinct strengths. Here is how they compare:
Breed | Strength | Weakness | Signature Trait |
|---|---|---|---|
Hespia | First available, reliable | No standout stats | Starter mount (unlocked in prologue) |
Brianto | Highest speed potential | Lowest health and stamina | Instant Acceleration + Consecutive Instant Acceleration |
Priden | Best jump power and handling | Low movement speed | High Jump + Double Jump |
Elantrima | Balanced, no major weakness | No standout stat | Well-rounded (solid exploration) |
Numont | High health and stamina | Lower speed and handling | Durability-focused |
Skills
Like all horse breeds, Elantrima unlocks skills as you level it up through riding, feeding, and caressing. Core skills include Dash (Level 2), Drift and Back Kick (Level 3), Sprint (Level 4), and at Level 5 the standard set of Quick Start, Swimming III, and Double Jump. Elantrima does not have a unique signature skill like Priden's High Jump or Brianto's Consecutive Instant Acceleration, but its well-rounded nature means all its skills perform reliably across different terrain types.
Leveling
Horses gain experience and unlock new skills through three methods:
Feeding: The fastest method. Give your horse food items at any time by targeting it and using a food item from your inventory.
Caressing: Target your horse and press R to pet it. This grants free XP without consuming resources.
Riding: Passive XP gained from traveling on horseback. This is the slowest method but happens naturally during gameplay.
You can also invest Abyss Artifacts into the mount-related nodes on the Abyss Tree to improve base stats beyond what leveling and equipment provide.
Horse Equipment
Elantrima can be equipped with horse items at stables, including caparisons (cosmetic), horseshoes (speed bonuses), saddles (stamina bonuses), and stirrups (handling bonuses). These accessories let you customize Elantrima's strengths to suit your playstyle. Because Elantrima has no glaring weakness, you can focus equipment on whichever stat matters most for your current activity.
Horse Challenges
Elantrima is one of the four tamable horse breeds required for the Harmonious Hooves challenge #7. You must ride each of the four standard tamable breeds (Brianto, Priden, Elantrima, and Numont) for at least 100 meters each to complete this challenge. Keep an Elantrima registered at a stable so you can quickly switch to it when working on this challenge.
Tips
Elantrima is a great transitional mount between your starting Hespia and the legendary horses. Its balanced stats make it comfortable for all content.
Because Elantrima has no major stat weaknesses, it works well for players who switch between exploration, combat, and travel frequently without wanting to swap mounts.
Feed your horse to level it up faster. Feeding is significantly quicker than passive riding XP.
Caress your horse (target it and press R) for free XP without spending any resources.
Since Elantrima stats are slightly randomized when tamed, try taming two or three wild ones and compare their stats at a stable to find the best roll.
If you need specialized performance, switch to Brianto for speed or Priden for vertical exploration. Keep Elantrima as your default all-rounder.
