Overview
Daily Life is the second quest in Chapter 4: The Price of Knowledge. It follows the Mysterious Pot quest and leads into Forbidden Knowledge. This quest takes a break from the main storyline to showcase two of the game's competitive side activities: an unarmed combat arena and an archery tournament.
Chapter Context
With the Greymane camp established at Howling Hill, Chapter 4 shifts focus to daily operations and the pursuit of forbidden knowledge. Before diving into the chapter's main mystery, Kliff must handle two tasks for his companions: rescuing Yann from the fighting pits and competing in an archery contest.
Objectives
Disturbance at the Arena
Return to Howling Hill and speak with Andrew.
Enter the arena and unequip your weapon through the radial wheel (D-pad Left). You must be completely unarmed to speak with the host.
Speak with the host in red at the arena center and pay 30 Copper to enter.
Win three consecutive fistfights. Only punches are allowed; kicks, skills, and weapon attacks are banned and result in immediate disqualification.
After winning, retrieve Yann from his cell and ride back to Howling Hill.
Skilled in Archery
Travel north to Capra Pasture and speak with Naira.
Follow Duane to Lioncrest Manor and speak with the host near the white tent.
Compete in the archery contest: shoot ten popup targets faster than your opponent. Keep your bow aimed at center and flick toward targets as they appear.
Speak with Duane after winning. He instructs Kliff to look for jobs in Hernand, leading into the next quest.
Notable Encounters
The fistfight arena introduces the boxing minigame. All three opponents share roughly equal difficulty. If you defeat all three without losing a round, you face the arena champion as an optional bonus fight. Use L1/LB to block incoming attacks and maintain offensive pressure with quick jabs.
The archery contest is a speed competition. Accuracy matters less than reaction time; aim near the center of the field and quickly adjust when each target pops up.
Rewards
No material rewards are listed for this quest. The primary reward is Yann's rescue and the narrative progression into the Forbidden Knowledge quest line.
Tips
Before entering the fistfight arena, consider removing any armor that has special abilities. Some armor effects can trigger during unarmed combat and may cause a disqualification.
During the fistfight, keep your guard up with L1/LB between punches. The opponents telegraph their attacks clearly.
For the archery contest, pre-aim toward the center of the target field. Targets appear at predictable distances, so small flick adjustments are faster than sweeping the camera.
Make sure you have at least 30 Copper before starting this quest for the arena entry fee.
